Default Blockbuster online Blu-ray rentals

Well, it's finally happened. The success of Blu-Ray has caused hugh back-ups in the Blockbuster online rentals. I have 41 movies in my que, and nothing has shipped for almost a week.

Here is a list,

Very Long Wait

King Arthur
Eragon
Deja Vu
Ghost Rider
Guardian
Enter the Dragon
Bullitt
Wild
Letters from Iwo Jima
Apocalypto
Chicken Little
Ultimate Avengers Collection

Long Wait
Behind Enemy Lines
Cassanova
Flight of the Phoenix
Road Warrior
We were Soldiers
Donnie Brasco
District B13
Night at the Meseum
Gataway
Reign of Fire
Training Day
Prestige
Rio Bravo

"short" wait
Dinosaur
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Bridge to Terabithia
Patriot
Sentinel
World Trade Center
Blood and Chocolate
Happily Never After
Marine
Windtalkers
Corpse Bride
Superman II
Invincible
Ladder 49
Discover Atlas Australia
Chronos

So, I called and complained, with 40+ titles in the queue, they should be sending me something. The guy on the other line said they have had a spike in Blu-Ray rentals and they didn't have enough movies to cover the increased demand. The only thing he did was send some movie rentals coupons in the mail.

If you are thinking about joining BB online for Blu-Ray rentals, I'd advise you don't until they get a handle on their inventory.

Think I'll try NetFlix's free trial period, that will give me more ammo vs BB.

Just got Casino Royale in the mail from BB. Does anybody know how returning to store and get another movie free works? or do you have to pay the rental price at the store?

Default BB returns

Just bring your movies to the store with you. Grab the amount of movies you are returning. Take them up to the cash wrap and give them your old ones and have them check out your new ones. Thats it. But you have to swap movies out then. You cant get a voucher for later. Good luck.

Yeah, I used to have a short wait for Blu. Since the announcement, I'm not getting anything. And most of the movies I want on Blu-ray at the store are out also. D@mn! Oh well, as one poster said, it's good for Blu-ray. Just bad for me at the moment.

And this is why I no longer deal with Blockbuster. I had this problem with regular DVD's, and I'm sure BD would be even more of a nightmare. I've never had to wait for a single disc with Netflix.

To me, this may be a good thing. Hopefully, Blockbuster will get more Blu-ray movies in stock because of increased demand. For now, I am having a great time renting the Blu-ray movies from my local store.

Switch to netflix, no comparison. I was on blockbuster for a while and had the same results you are getting. With netlix there has only been a couple times they didn't send the movie at the top of my que. I did complain to blockbuster. They sent me a generic E-Mail message saying they would try to get more movies of the type I want to watch (notice they said type not format). Then I left blockbuster, they had a suvey to fill out I made it very clear that I was leaving do to not getting the blu-rays I wanted. And then after that they sent me several generic E-Mails saying how kuch they wanted be back and such. I did resond to a few of them also. At no point did they ever actually send me a personalized E-mail of any type. Just really annoying generic E-Mails.

I tried Netflix, but I dumped them for BB. I hated their envelopes.

What because they were red instead of blue? Like an HD-DVD fobia? OMG it's a blue-ray in a red envelope! Sorry but like wow. Once blu-ray wins the format war will you be more comfortable with red envelopes?

Couple of things. I have Netflix as well as Blockbuster Total Access, so I don't worry too much. Second of all, at my closest Blockbuster they almost always have all of their titles in stock since not a lot of people rent Blu-rays, yet. At least not locally, which means that many of the titles in my queue that are long or very long wait, I just end up getting there.

But, yes I am in the same boat as well. Out of the 34 movies in my queue (all Blu-rays by the way), only two are available. One of which is The Untouchables, which has been available for about a week now and is the first movie in my queue, but for whatever reason BB is refusing to send it to me. I'm starting to dislike them AGAIN, but am willing to stick around for a while longer to see if they can get their act together.

Netflix is the best. I have tried them both-I actually gave blockbuster 2 chance but they kept messing up. Nothing shipped for about a week and their only excuse both times was a computer malfunction-and i also agree they have a problem keeping items in stock.

I of course went back to netflix.

Interesting to me (I live in Orlando/Winter Park, FL) one of the Blockbusters here went out of business-something I have never seen in Orlando but I thought was very interesting> I hope they are realizing that they charge way too much to rent a movie and everyone is turning to places like Netflix or they just forgo Blockbuster and pay the same amount to order it from Pay Per View.

I am trying the Free trial with Nexflix, they have sent me 4 movies that Blockbuster said were on a very long wait, and Blockbuster still hasn't sent me a thing.

Now, if only Netflix rented games.
