Default I, Robot question regarding U.S. or UK release

I have a scandinavian release of it and I checked some scenes just to see the PQ. I noticed grain (or I think it's called grain), I don't mind grain and that's really not my question, or kind of is (sorry, english is not my first lanuage). Does anybody know if all the different region releases have different transfers?
And does of you that state the movie has reference quality, do you mean that that the movie is super-ultra crystal clear? Or could you elaborate?
Thanks in advance.

They sometimes have different transfers but not always. The Beowulf U.S release looks worse than the U.K release.

And yes reference quality means it looks just like it would in the studio when it is uncompressed or extremely close to it. No visible artifacting, DNR, edge enhancement. ect...

I wasn't asking what reference quality means, but thanks anyway.
What I meant with the question, is that I noticed a lot of grain in the movie, And sorry I didn't elaborate in the question, Sorry! Is there grain in all of the releases, are all the releases identical? <--- question for everybody.

That is my question
You can't ask me a question I asked for, that's why I don't have the answer.

Thanks, but is there anyone that can confirm this? I can read, I know two people already wrote
that they didn't remember any grain, but memory can be questioned, and: There is definitely not grain! is more of a strong answer...

I just recently purchased this on Blu and I was blown away by the excellent Picture Quality. I did not notice any grain either. And if there is some, it is definitely minimal.

It doesn't have any grain.

In fact, had you taken the time to read the review hosted on this very website you would have learned this.

Suffice it to say, however, what you're looking at here is probably as close to perfection as we're going to see for a while. It doesn’t hurt that I, Robot is a slick, glossy looking movie to begin with, and this Blu-ray edition reproduces every single frame with darn near perfection. This image features absolutely fantastic and robust color reproduction, perfect skin tones, and extremely high detail. The opening close-up shot of Will Smith is stunning, and the disc never looks back. The imagery of future Chicago is first-rate. A distance shot of the city is crystal clear with nary a fault to be seen. The print is meticulously clean and absolutely free of any noticeable defects. This is one of the most natural and beautiful images yet on Blu-ray. In fact, it very well may be the best. Black levels are spot-on perfect. Even the leather on Will Smith’s jacket looks glossy and clear as day; the intricate details in the material itself are clearly visible. The image is impeccably sharp and clean from edge to edge and top to bottom, never soft. The special effects hold up very, very well in this one. Simply stated, if you are looking for the perfect demo disc to show off that fancy new 1080p television set and your Blu-ray player, picking up and using this movie is a no-brainer.

If you're going to be a smart-ass, then at least quote something reliable.
As Jeff said, I' Robot has a very fine grain structure and let's not forget that *shock* it was actually shot on film.

US version here. It does indeed have some grain but it's barely noticeable and not intrucive at all. How can I put it? It feels natural. Certain films have so much grain, it starts to stick out (especially in darker spots). This movie doesn't have that.

Personally, I think the US I, Robot is pretty much reference quality material. A very good transfer.

Not being a smart ass - just have an issue with people asking for answers and expecting them in a silver platter without doing research themselves and then coping an attitude here. Examples:

See what I'm saying?

And the review I quoted was the one hosted here, written by Martin Liebman. If you don't consider his review to be reliable, well... I'm sorry.

The film is not grainy; wasn't meant to be or shot to have it (a la Bourne Trilogy for example) and the transfer is very faithful to the original; naturally it will have some - like you accurately pointed out, it was shot on Super 35 but beyond that, it's very smooth looking, even for a film-shot motion picture.
