Default For the person asking about Labyrinth

I just saw a new print in 35mm tonight, and let me tell you that they need Lowry to attack this movie. It's shot very soft focus (to help hide the strings and such), it's grainy, and while some effects (the luminence keying on the Fire people for example) look a lot better, overall people will complain that it doesn't look much better than the superbit.

The Dark Crystal is probably in even worse shape.

That being said, watch for it to come to your town (it's roadshowing) and make your own determination.

Yeah, I own the superbit and it looks terrible (even for a DVD). You're right Lowry needs to get a hold of that and Dark Crystal.

(Before I start picturing the need to shake paprika and seasoned salt all over the movie to rescue its flavor...
Can anyone fill in a termless newbie on who "Lowry" is when he/she/it's at home?)

John Lowry, who founded Lowry Digital Images, a company that specializes in film restoration. Now it is called DTS Digital Images, since DTS bought it.

So how do we go about sending him a copy of the movie and a note that says "Pretty please with sugar on top, can you save this?"
