Yes

I have seen them at CES and the Qualia stores in Las Vegas and Tokyo.

I am not sure if they still do the Qualia line though...

Thumbs up Yes! Impressive...

I was in Las Vegas last month and went to the SonyStyle store. I went there for the purpose of seeing Blu-ray demonstrated. They had their Blu-ray prototype playing through this projector in their top-of-the-line demo room.

It was incredible. I went back several times to watch all of their Blu-ray demo material. I'm no expert, but it was truly like watching film. The contrast, colorspace, resolution, etc. The only other thing I could compare it to was an older CRT front projector system that our company owns for presentations in its corporate offices. I think that the Qualia way outshines that.

I've always heard that CRT performance is the holy grail in video. Has SXRD now surpassed it?

Anyway, $30,000 is way out of my budget so I also watched Blu-ray on Sony's rear-projection SXRDs and it was very satisfying too.

The Myer-Emco store in Bethesda, MD also has the Qualia 004 setup and running... Last I saw it was connected to a Toshiba HD-DVD player... Sacrilidge? Anyway, the Samsung hadn't been released at that point. It is beyond a doubt the best looking image that I had ever seen. But, for the money - ridiculous.

yeah I have an sxrd, but their new line is going to put out 1080p not 1080i. Since I just bought it like 2yr ago I'm gonna wait like 2-3 more years before upgrading again

having seen the Runco Signature Series front projector IMO it looked much better than the qualia though it retails for $250,000 or something crazy like that. At the 30k price point i'd prefer something other than sony having had bad experiences with them though i must say the qualia stuff is very nice and really is what the XBR line used to be.
