Amen to that. Many wasted hours playing Amp and Freq online...I miss those days.

I hope the controller will be wireless. I would still play beatmania if it had wireless controller.

I tried it at Best Buy yesterday and didn't like it. The scratching mechanism and free function of the turntable means that you can lose the controls mid-game as it spins out of control. My hand hurt after 5 minutes of playing. Also, staying true to the "Hero" franchise/gameplay, I didn't feel like I was actually playing the song.

I'm pre-ordering DJ Hero Renegade Edition. I'll play it for a while and if I don't like it I'll sell it on eBay. At first I didn't like Guitar Hero because I was horrible at it but then I got used to it. So maybe that'll be the case again.

I have a feeling people don't like this, or the sound of this because "DJ" is automatically rap music. But it's not all rap, and it's nothing like Soulja Boy or any horrible rap "music." As usual, I don't know who a lot of the people are

is there any news on the sku prices for the standalone turntable instruments? id like to know if they sell the 'special' case/stand seperately also but i doubt it. looking to get an extra turntable along with the standard package and wanted to know the prices. i may be better off waiting for a 3rd party turntable as well.

i was also not impressed with the demo at BB, seems pretty lame to me, maybe if you are really interested in DJing w/turntables this would be fun, but i think im just done with the "hero" franchise altogether

A friend and I tried it at best buy over the weekend. We actually liked it. It was a lot more interesting than I thought it would be, and the 3 demo mixes were really good. They put two songs together and the ones were heard flowed together very well.

I agree, however, that it is VERY easy to lose the 3 buttons when you are trying to scratch. Plus the slider doesn't have hard clicks for the 3 positions so it makes it harder to do it fast. especially going from one edge to the middle then to the other edge.

But we both felt that with practice it could be lots of fun with some great music you can't get anywere else. But thats just me. He throws money away so he'll get it long before I do. $120 is very pricey when I could get 2 or 3 other more wanted games for that.

As someone who does actually DJ with turntables, I don't have much interest in this game. And I do enjoy the GH/RB games, but then, I don't play guitar and probably never will.

Yeah, I've DJ'ed with vinyl and I've DJ'ed with Pioneer CD turntables and the Best Buy demo was NOTHING like either of those two.

Guys, no offense, but this is akin to the whole "I play real guitars/drums so why should I bother with the videogame aspect of it" argument. In other words, its an oft-heard story so let's not go there again eh?

Me personally, I wouldn't buy it simply because its not my thing. I've done the DDR thing, I've done the RB thing, and the genre is growing old. Like me, sad but the truth

In my defense, I wasn't making an unprompted threadcrap - I was simply responding to the statement that someone interested in DJing would find this fun, which is not necessarily true at all.

The reason I like the guitar hero games is because I have no desire to ever actually spend the time and energy learning how to play a real guitar but the game offers a fun chance to pretend. I think that's probably the primary market for DJ Hero - people that aren't seriously interested in DJing, but want to have some fun pretending. If it ends up sparking genuine interest in DJing for some of those people then that's awesome!

Understood. Now all we need is a game to get people to rap since Singstar's rap meter is absolute crap

Seems the controller is a cd turntable and not the 12 inch vinyl player one might expect. Would be cool if the player looked a bit like a Techinique turntable and was as big.
Never liked to dj with cd's.

Does anyone know if the controlls have things on it a normal mixer would? Like sampling, looping and all the audio tweaking.
