Default Disney "Upgrade2Blu" Program

Does anybody have any idea on how this would work? Heres the link to the story: https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=3404

Would Pixar Films be included? Also would you need any type of receipt of your DVD or Blu Ray Purchase?

Sounds, like great idea to me

Snow White is the first title. With that one you essentially log into your Disney account, enter the UPC code from the original DVD, and print a $10 coupon.

Easy.

Go Disney!

Good news for me also since I already sold my 40+ Disney DVDs. Guess I'll just steal the UPCs off those.

FYI, you don't necessarily have to own these titles on DVD or VHS in order to get the coupons. Anyone with a generic UPC can print them out.

It does say that many of the catalog titles will be added. I dont see why they wouldnt do this since they did go back and repackage many of there older blu titles to include participation in the rewards program.

I don't think that Sony,Universal,Fox,etc. will let Disney get the rights to the old catalog titles.

This is why Disney is one of my favorite Blu studios. There's a $10 off coupon for many titles when they're released, and I always reward this by using the coupon and buying their product.

No, not to old Catelog titles, those will always stay with the respected studios that released them, but eventually (years down the road) most of the character rights will revert back to marvel in which case disney can produce and release them

I'm also interested in seeing them adapt other characters that haven't had a movie yet

Disney is one of the best studios around lately, everything they do just seems to put a smile on my face (hell i even enjoyed G-Force)
