Ok I am looking into getting another plasma, Blu-ray player and Receiver for the downstairs.
My Budget is $2000 - $2200 Looking for a 50' Plasma 1080P Panny. If you had the money to spend what would you buy? Just looking for a little help. Would you buy the best Plasma and go cheaper on the Receiver and Blu-Ray player?? Getting the wall mount and cables at monoprice.com.. thanks Chris Last edited by Grif32; 10-08-2009 at 03:11 PM. |

Seeing what you already have...I would get a projector. The real question is, how will this screen function? Is it going to be your primary viewing set up? Or, is it just for an extra TV spot?
Oh, and you have 22K as your top range. I'm assuming you meant 2200. |

Well I have a PS3 on one TV and a Vizio BR player on my bedroom TV and the Vizio is rock Solid player with no problems. Slower loading times but for $100 brand new I didnt care. At the most I would spend on a BD player would be $299 for the PS3. So I dont think the BD player will cost that much. Its more the TV and Receiver. I love my Onkyo 705 and might just stick with another Onkyo. Its the Plasma I am not sure of. If I go high end or go with a little less.

Like I wrote in my previous post...it just depends on what you want to accomplish. If you're just looking for another place to watch movies, piece something together that will just "work". Or, if you're trying to start a HT kind of set up, be sure not to skimp on the audio and/or BR player.
Get the V10 and you won't have much left for other stuff. |

The V10 is definitely the way to go IMO. It definitely performs better than the G10. HERE's a good price for it with free shipping. I agree that you shouldn't skimp on the audio, but you don't have to break the bank for a good quality receiver. You can look at THIS Onkyo for $378.98 shipped, THIS Yamaha for $369 shipped, or THIS Yamaha for $399 shipped. As for the Blu-ray player I think a budget player is just fine for your needs. All of the players under $500 are going to give you pretty much the same performance, so unless you plan to get an Oppo or something else higher end just look for the best deal. Check the reviews to ensure you don't get one that has a lot of problems, and make sure that it decodes or bitstreams the HD audio codecs. The real money should be spent on quality speakers which you should commit a decent budget to.
