Question Gremlins Blu - Collector's Item?

If Gremlins was only at Target, and it's not availible anymore (no longer at my store, at least), does that mean that later it could be a collector's item?

EDIT: Just to let you know, I bought mine the day it came out.

I guess if you value the movie (I do) then it can. In terms of it being limited or rare? I doupt it. My Target (as of yesterday) had 6 Gremlins and 4 Wizard of Oz left. There's this one guy on eBay that has been selling Gremlins for $40.00 and Wizard of Oz for $75. I watched both auctions all week and he didn't sell one copy.

This blu ray is not rare at all , its back in stock at amazon canada. And, it will be available everywhere in the usa, in a few weeks, when target exclusive deal ends. My copy from amazon canada came in a nice shiny slipcover, if im not mistaken the target version doesnt have one .

It will most likely be widely released early next year. So it won't be collector's item.

I saw this at Futureshop last week picking up my Sleeping Beauty. Put it off to buy until after the holiday season.

Target worked out an exclusivity deal with Warner.

Rumor has it they will also have The Goonies exclusively next month.

Cool, had no idea. Is there any difference between Warner and the Canadian version, aside from the slipcover?

Whoever thought of these retailer specific/exclusive custom releases needs to be taken to the woodshed.

All it does is confuse the customers...highly doubt the net sales rise by very many volumes.

How many BD collectors say "gee I need the BestBuy, the Target AND the Amazon version of the exact same film!"...they will buy whichever offers the most eye/ear candy (ref Trans2 IMAX).

This stupidity needs to stop.

Read the Transformers 2 thread. Plenty of confusion there.

Not only can Gremlins still be found in Target, but someone said in another forum thread that they've lowered the price to $19.99.

So much for collectable.
