Thanks for the kind words guys, I appreciate it.

You guys have any suggestions for which list we should next? I'm thinking Science Fiction or Action. You guys can decide or suggest another category.

Science fiction was my first thought.

Action needs to be done at some point.

Drama is arguably the best genre as it contains most of the strongest acting performances and the stories actually mean something.

With the Holidays coming up we should have a Holiday list. Then after that you can do Romance/Romantic Comedies followed by Dramas or Oscar Winners.

If you think we can get two in before the end of the year, then perhaps a Sci-fi/Fantasy list would tie-in well with some Holiday releases like Avatar.

We can definitely squeeze in two more for the year. I'm a little hesistant to do a Science Fiction/Fantasy because I think it would be over flooded with fantasy, IMO. I think Lord of the Rings would take the top 3 easily and the list wouldn't be that interesting.

So how about:

November: Science Fiction
December: ?
January: Top Action Films
February: Top Films of 2009

The reason I have Top Films of 2009 in February is because some of the best films of the year only get a limited release in December and aren't released nationwide until January. As was the case last year with Frost/Nixon, The Wrestler, Milk and countless others. So I would like to give the chance for everyone to catch up. Plus, that's when the Academy Award nominees are announced.

I would also like to do a Top Actors and Film Directors at some point. But for December: Comedy or Drama?

Looks good to me.

I don't have any respect for modern comedies, so I would prefer drama. I know most people love comedy though...

I have a lack of respect for most Comedies too. I think the true greats appear every 5 years or so.

Anchorman was 2004 and Step Brothers was 2008... pretty close. Guess you're right.

It annoys me that studios focus on dumb humor to appeal to the masses. They run out of ideas after an hour and barely manage to reach 90 minutes before they just give up.

We're all different, so it's fine if people like that stuff.

Give me Peter Sellers any day...or Monty Python...or Naked Gun.

I don't think comedies really work when every line is supposed to be funny. I prefer proper actors inserting comedy into their roles like Jack Nicholson.

The things that make me laugh the most are movies such as Bolt or Ratatouille, or genre-spanning efforts such as Inglourious Basterds or Fargo.

Peter Sellers and Monty Python = the kings of comedy. I'm fairly young in age around here but these guys beat the pants off anybody today. I really do enjoy Hot Fuzz/Death at a Funeral.

I also agree with every line having to be funny. I like it when it's more thought out and executed well. I really did enjoy Fargo and Inglorious Basterds... I think those worked out better than most recent comedies.

Completely agree. I think December should be the best Christmas films ever, kinda ties in with what you just did with the horror ones for Halloween.

31. Shaun of the Dead - Never seen it and dont plan on seeing it!
30. Hellraiser - Its been along time since Ive seen this one. From what I remember it was pretty good but not top 31 worthy!
29. The Ring - Great film. I saw this twice in the theater! Plus u cant go wrong with Naomi Watts!
28. The Amityville Horror - Saw this at a very young age also. From what I remember it was pretty good as well.
27. 28 Days Later - This was pretty good but the sequel is way better and shouldve made this list instead!
26. An American Werewolf In London - Simply a classic and will soon own on blu-ray. The best werewolf film ever!
25. The Orphanage - Never seen it but may try to soon if I can get over my subtitle fear!
24. The Blair Witch Project - Never seen it and dont think I will either.
23. Event Horizon - Never seen this one but will see this soon as the hype as got my attention!
22. Let The Right One In - Read comments about movie (25)
21. Scream - This movie brought back the slasher films that were so popular in the 80's! I loved this film and definitely is an alltime great!
20. Saw - This movie may have the best twist ending Ive ever seen! Very well done and original idea! Top 20 worthy!
19. The Mist - This is a instant classic! One of the best horror films Ive seen in the last 10 years! Anything with Stephen King's name on it is a winner!
18. The Omen - See comments from movie (28)
17. The Evil Dead - I watched this film years after it came out and it was ok. I think I need to watch it again though.
16. Evil Dead 2 - Never seen this one but if I re-watch part 1 then I most likely will watch this one as well.
15. Poltergeist - This is the best horror movie of its kind! This is actually top 10 worthy!
14. The Descent - I like this movie a lot, however this is to high for this movie! Maybe it should be in the top 31 but definitely not top 15!
13. Night of the Living Dead - I tried to watch this movie a few years back and couldnt get through it. Either to old or way to slow. Just way before my time. There are a lot better zombie flicks although this is the one that got the zombie movies going!
12. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - See comments from movie (28)
11. Friday the 13th - Now obviously this is my fav movie franchise and Jason is my fav killer of alltime............well Jason isnt in this one! This movie was decent and got the ball rollin but I prefer so many of the sequels over this. I wonder if when people made their list, if they considered sequels or just the franchise itself when they named their movie?
10. Dawn of the Dead - See comments from movie (28)
9. Psycho - See comments from movie (28)
8. The Silence of the Lambs - Never seen it but may see it in the future.
7. Jaws - See comments from movie (28)
6. A Nightmare On Elm Street - Wasnt a big Freddy fan! I liked the last one the best. Freddy is a huge icon, probably the 3rd best behind Jason & Michael!
5. The Thing - Never seen it but definitely the hype for this movie has got me and I will purchase this movie soon!
4. The Shining - A definite classic! A must see for all! Jack at his best. The movie that started the qoute "RedRum" Gotta love it!
3. Alien - Never seen this but once it hits blu I will check it out!
2. Halloween - Actually watched this again lastnight! I prefer the 2nd one (which I plan to watch tonight) but it was the birth of Michael Myers and the greatest horror music theme of alltime!
1. The Exorcist - See comments from movie (28)

All in all not a terrible list! Far different from mine. Only 8 of my 31 made the list which were: Halloween, Poltergeist, The Shining, An American Werewolf In London, Saw, Scream, The Mist, & The Ring! If I had to choose one movie from my list that didnt make the cut that is very surprising, it would have to be: Phantasm! How does this movie not make the top 31?? Oh well good lookin out Romulos! Always look forward to these contest! Got Em!!

What about best Romantic films of all time....or most of you scared of the "chick flick" tag?

Sci Fi the winners will be the Star Wars films we all know that.....not very interesting.

Fantasy..same thing..the Lord of the Tard films will take the top three spots...again not very interesting.

What about Western? I think Western, Romantic and Christmas/Holiday would be much more intresting.

i've already said why I think Blair Witch is scarier than Exorcist: for the same reason that the sound of a monster in the woods is scarier than the image of the monster in the woods. my mind doesnt need any help in creating an image that will always be more terrifying than any image you put on a screen. of course, you're free to say "you're wrong," but that's just us agreeing to disagree

That December slot seems perfect for holiday films.

I can honestly say Blair Witch was one of the most frightening movie going experiences I've had. I think it is only topped by Aliens but that's because I was 6 when I went to see that.
