Originals with subtitles, obviously. One caveat being that some animated films have good English dubs, and in those cases the dubbing works fine for me.

even if you cant understand the language, the vocal deflections and tone are critical to conveying emotion. some hired schmuck who does dubbed language has no idea who the character is. in the end, you haven't seen the film, just some hogwash.

Would anyone change their mind if it was a foreign animated film? As long as the director was involved and approved the new voice-work, I'd be OK with it, but would still prefer the original w/ subtitles.

It does change things with animation. But the fact is that typically animation gets a great voice localization cast. That said I can watch them either way.

Besides a select few animes (most I cannot stand dubbed) I always prefer original audio with subtitles.

Voted for original language with subtitles. Dubbing is horrible. It's good for a laugh though if you've been drinking.

Dubbed is great for laughs....like the older Godzilla movies or an old kung fu movie when their mouths keep moving for a about a minute after the voice of the 'dubber' stops!

+1

Good acting is much more than just showing up on camera or going through some motions.

I can't watch dubbed films.
