Default I thought all Lossless Was the Same.. NOT!!!!

Well we've debated over and over about DTS MA being better than Dolby True HD. Some say the are the same and some prefer DTS MA over Dolby True HD. Well I believe the facts are on the table now. Lord of the Rings was originally scheduled for Dolby True HD 5.1 now it is being Switched to DTS-MA 6.1. LOL i wonder why. They aren't the same, if they were the studio wouldn't of done this right.

CANT DENY THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they made the switch because they wanted to use the "best" codec, they would've used PCM. I'm sure money has nothing to do with it, though . But yeah . . . they're the same.

Yeah, I hate losing data when I zip and reopen an Excel sheet.

Oh yeah . . . that doesn't happen.

And again, if the companies wanted to use the "best" codec, they would have stuck with PCM.

I think you guys are a little mis informed. If they were the same, like you guys love to try to prove. There wouldnt be 2 different formats. They pick from the 2 to reproduced the original sound, and it seems that DTS can handle more the Dolby, thats why its different.

Ok, so why didn't they switch it from Dolby to PCM? Also, by your rationale, both Wal Mart and Target should not exist, since they are two separate companies that do the same thing.

PCM is uncompressed right. Thats takes up way more space, and sometimes you need compression with some of these movies, they're just too loud for a HT

Well . . . if you're going to make a bogus claim, at least try and back it up a little . . . maybe with some facts.

The facts are on the table, the studio switched it because DTS can handle LOTR's thats it FINAL, POINT BLANK. Go argue with Warner Brothers and tell ask the why did they switch it if its the same LOL.

So . . . what about LOTR is it that Dolby couldn't handle? Since you have the inside scoop.

You're attempting to make an argument based on something you know nothing about. I could probably make a better case for the world being flat than you could a case about how DTS can better handle LOTR. Typical fanboy mentality, though. Can't stand behind your claims and unwilling to admit that you make absolutely no sense.

Although the end result is the same, it's quicker and easier to encode in DTS-HD MA than it is in Dolby TrueHD. And PCM takes far too much space and thus the video would have to take a hit.

Well i agree with the PCM, but DTS-MA is engineered better than True HD
