Default Lip Sync Problems - Samsung HT-AS720S

Hi there,

I have the following setup:

TV: Samsung UN46B8500
BD Player: SHARP Aquos HP-21U
AMP - Samsung HT-AS720S

I previously owned an LN40A650 and had NO ISSUES with lip sync on my bluray films. I now purchased the UN46B8500 2 weeks ago and have begun experiencing lip sync issues on certain bluray films (not all).

Most recently I have noticed it on Watchmen, and all 3 LOTR trilogy films amongst a couple of others. I have the bluray player hooked up by high end monster HDMI cable to the amp, then another hdmi from the amp to the tv (HDMI audio + video). The delay seems to be about a half second or less but it's noticeable. Like I said earlier, only certain films do it, but they never did before on my old TV.

First i will say that going through the amp is the only way i get lip sync issues. When i hook up the bluray player straight up to the TV there are ZERO issues......My HD Cable box is hooked up via HDMI straight to the TV and there are also no lip sync issues. A wii via component, and my pc as well as using a usb stick for playing hd trailers, all do not have any lip sync issues.

My lone problem is running 2 hdmi cables from the bluray player to my amp and to the tv, but my LN40A650 didn't have this problem with the same bluray player and amplifier......

Yes, I disabled AMP on the UN46B8500, tried every possible setting to no avail. Does anyone here know of anything i can do to remedy this situation? Any helpful hints? Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Joe

When you say amp, I think you mean receiver/AVR. Anyway, there should be some kind of lip sync or "delay" feature in the menu that should help with this issue. Have you checked your receiver's menu yet to see if this setting is available and can be accessed?
