Why is bd.com the devil? Are their medical supplies contaminated? Why are we even talking about them on Blu-ray.com? Color me confused.

it may be a pointless thread yes. but it was an observation that whenever there is a poll, a forum or an article related to the formats people always seem to point out blu-ray.com and its ''lies''. the engadget poll is the newest. I thought it directly related to the site. lighten up. if you're on an online forum right now what life do you have 5 minutes to lose from :P

I'm just curious, and this is one time where I welcome trolls to feel free to respond without fear of persecution, but what "lies" are we telling over here? (and for the record, no, you're not a troll for answering, I really want to know what we're supposedly lying about...)

With that poll, the only way we'd be considered cheaters truly is by voting more than once. HD DVD people are more than welcome to let people know there's a poll at the website and to go vote. However, I don't think there's quite as many people supporting HD DVD as there is for Blu-Ray.

I think the reason people are beginning to hate this website isn't because of how we support Blu-Ray, but it's how we present ourselves. Like in that "Must we act like trolls?" thread. It seems like there's quite a few people that walk around with their nose in the air because they support Blu-Ray. Wether it's by something simple like posting and using the term "dud" or by starting a thread about how HD DVD must die, it all makes Blu-Ray.com look bad in my opinion. Instead of being tollerable of other people's decissions, wether right or wrong, people around here are treating this like a school yard fight where the person with the snottiest insult wins.

Since the HD DVD side cannot win on the merits they must resort to name calling.

Seems kind of childish to me.

so are we the devil?

Whats happening is the hd dvd supporters believed in their investment. When it was first introduced on april 18 2006 they though "wow". Everyone was saying how blu ray would fail because of the price or at it wasn't good enough in 2006. Although in 2007 blu-ray has turned around to be the next standard. Supporters of hd-dvd still believe in their investment because they don't want to have waste there money on it. So they'll point out the flaws on blu ray before they down grade hd dvd. They'll also reinforce each other because everyone is in the same boat. I'm not sure if that helped you out or not?

I support blu ray. I won't supported them if I didn't think they could win

The more we kick they're a-- the more pissed they get because they choose cheap over quality. Little did they know being cheap would end up costing them more.

Here is a quote from an hd dvd forum member that's indirectly saying none of you PS3 owners really matter in this format war.

Here is his quote:

I'm not backing up porn on my computer with an optical disc. Thus, disc space isn't an issue on my standalone. I can download deleted scenes and extras via the Ethernet port on my player. You didn't buy Blu-Ray for a better picture I hope? That issue has been debunked for more than a year. Both formats look and sound great. I don't hate Blu-Ray. I hate Blu-Ray's pricing and refusal to release finished spec'd hardware that's not a loud, hot gaming console. Check my posts around the 'net. I plan to go purple when Blu-Ray players become cheaper.

Most Blu-Ray owners didn't buy for PiP, Ethernet connectivity or for Blu-Ray. They bought their machine to play games. (Too easy!)

actually I stole that from some elementary school's website. I google image searched ''blue devil''. it was the only one that wasn't a corvette or duke university.

I guess we should go back to our old ways of being gracious winners. kill them with kindness. i'm going to start telling all the members at hdd and avs that I love them.

The fact is Blu-ray.com is not trying to hide the fact that it supports Blu-ray. We are open about it and that is all we are meant to discuss here. So when they say we are unfair, it is because they can not spread their FUD here without being banned quickly. You will also find the LIFE is unfair and for them, the fact that we can support our claims with evidence, graphs, articles, sales numbers, etc... only goes to show that they have nothing to argue with.

I saw the post that someone had made on engagenet about bluray.com having a thread on the pole and the pole did not mater any more. At the time that the post was made, 12 people had read the thread and over 300 people had voted for Blu

The Depaul Blue Demons have a pretty cool logo that could be modified for our use here...

Yes, I noticed this for the first time the other afternoon, that Hd fans were basically trying to make our website a non respectful piece of crap. I found it hilarious since in all my years on the web, this sight has the best community, it's full of honesty, and we don't put them down harshly besides how much denial they are in. Pretty sad how they are carrying themselves. I think they are just jealous.
