Default Blu-ray regaining the lead at Amazon

So Much for HD DVD's much touted new wave of buyers (from the firesales) coming in effect.
This proves that what really happened is the effect of the one and only BOGO HD DVD has known until know, and the freak effect of Oprah on HD DVD's PE sales:

http://www.eproductwars.com/dvd/

Too many HD DVD fanboys have used those graphs recently to try to sway people saying the tipping point (in their favor) had been reached.
Blu does not need BOGOs to sell all year long (even if a bogo helps against a very strong HD DVD title), wherehas apparently HDVD lives and dies (on charts) by its promotions...

Everything is normal again Blu has a commanding lead.

It is merely restarting, but truth be said Amazon is extending their BOGO until stocks run out

Actually the numbers at eproductwars.com have been off for at least a couple of days as they didn't reflect the results of the recent Fox B1G1 sale. hdgamedb.com typically has more accurate results.

I just checked a little while ago and Amazon's long special of 10 free movies with HD DVD players (3 of which can be chosen by the purchaser and count in the Nielsen numbers) is no longer going on. Not having the 3 free movies push the rankings up would naturally drop HD DVD's average rankings.

True... sadly very few will realize this.

None of the Fox titles involved in the promo ever appeared on eproductwars despite six or seven of them reaching the top 100.

K I'm a noob, lets get that out of the way. But I've seen those amazon rankings favor DUD during black Friday week and then seen the NPD say 70+% were Blu. I was under the impression that amazon rankings don't mean squat.

Blu-ray has been leading for a long time

eproductwars fail to include many highly ranked Blu-ray movies

For instance these movies, they where all in top 100 during FOX BOGO.

Die Hard
Die Hard 3
The day after tomorrow
Die Hard 2
Kingdom of Heaven
Rescue dawn

Highdefdigest is much more precise:

60 bucks is a damn good price for the 3 Borne movies on Amazon. Universal's missing the boat. Blu versions would've sold through the roof.

Also the Samsung BD-P1400 player is in the top 100 Electronics. I noticed it was up to 86 yesterday.

Default eproductwars is often incomplete

That website often misses a lot of titles on both sides. For example, during the fox bogo, they failed to take in all those fox titles.

This is another site to check them against (is more accurate but often have their own lost titles as well):
http://charts.highdefdigest.com/versus.aspx

You can also use this directly on amazon
http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers...ef=pd_ts_d_nav

But you stilll need to click on each one to get the rankings. Today @6:44Eastern, Terminator :Judgment Day is #10 on amazon top 10 BD at #192, but neither highdefdigest or eproductwars has it in their ranking.

Sometimes, even amazon query returns wrong data though. I've seen amazon return no titles in the top dvds queries before. It happens.

I have noticed this pattern too. At our site, we update the rankings every 5 minutes and I believe that is the fastest on the Net. Check it out:
