Default power conditioner?

I have no clue on what to buy for this? I need recommendations for brands and places to buy them?I would prefer to spend less than $300.00.

If you are going with a UPS, just make sure that you get one with sufficient power so you are not overloading it.

Especially if you are using a PS3 which alone has a "faceplate" power spec of 380W which is ~447VA if it draws at specification or high-current amplifiers.

This is what I use.

http://110220volts.ca/Merchant2/merc...ct_code=1010HT

It is inexpensive, and works just as well as the most expensive ones on the market.

It isn't a UPS, but you may not need UPS depending on your equipment. I use mine for my home theater setup, and It works awesome.

Here is what I use to protect my home theater room:

http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=3259

Besides surge protection, which is vital, it also offers separate filters for each audio and video section. By isolating each section separately, it prevents interference from bleeding over from one component or line to another. This noticeably cleans up both the picture and audio. These are well worth the investment.

Also, if you live in a house I would recommend checking with your power company on a whole house surge protector. If available in your area, it's a surge protector put on at your meter, so it blocks spikes before they enter your home. In my area it only cost $165 installed with a lifetime warranty. If it ever does go off, it has an audible alarm to let you know it needs to be checked. If that happens, the power company will come check it and replace, if necessary, free of charge.

We had a huge surge hit the neighborhood last year due to a meth head taking out a power pole a couple of miles away. Some of my neighbors lost home theater systems, refridgerators, etc. Fortunately, I ownly lost a cheap freebie printer and an old DVD player (on a cheap power strip). One neigbhor lost over $20k worth of home theater equipment.

I cannot stress how much the whole house surge protector works in conjunction with good power conditioners. If you're going to make the investment in a good home theater system, make sure you invest in protecting it as well.

I use the same Monster PowerCenter. This device made a huge difference in the clarity of my audio! The sales person told me it would, but I didn't believe him. So, I put in a BD movie got the sound all setup and listened very carefully. Then I powered everything off, installed the Monster PowerCenter, then watched/listened to the same BD movie. The picture looked slightly better (could have been the power of suggestion), but there was a huge difference in the audio! Even my wife noticed the clarity and crispness of the audio.

Ive never personally used that one...I have a Monster HTS5100. But the reviews on amazon are very good. It does pretty much the same thing (not exactly), but also adds a battery back up so you can shut your sh*t down manually. Unless of course you're not home.

This seems good enough. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/NexxT...oductDetail.do
I’ve never noticed “brownouts” and blackouts in my area. I think I’ll get that, unless someone tells me why I shouldn’t

Tripplite has very good products...if you are looking for something under $300 that does a great job...take a look at this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16882750007

don't waste your money on overpriced monster products...this does just as good as job as monsters 3600 and is a 1/3 of the price...have it shipped for under $200...actually under $130...
