Power Conditioner

I would like to purchase a power conditioner between $100-150. I can't afford more than that. What is a good brand to go with? Does anyone have anything like this? I've looked on Amazon and they had this one from Belkin

I have about 2 weeks to do this, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I got one from Belkin... it works.... I don't notice a difference, but then again, I don't notice a difference with my $300 Monster power-center either.

looks like one i have thats similar. a tad older and not black. probably the previous model. only thing is that sometimes there seems to be a hum coming from it. but only notice it when its extremely quiet. works like a champ though.

This one is $54.99. If you use google check out it goes down to $44.99. I have it it works really well and has audio and video filtering, and an amp outlet. It also comes w/ a mounting bracket if you want to attach it to the back of your entertainment center or wall. The only drawback is that it is big. At least 24'' in length, maybe 5'' wide.

I would not recommend one unless you are willing to spend the $. I have a Richard Graves that I paid $1200 for and it works great. I got more volume out of my reciever and a noticable increase in picture quality out of my Samsung plasma 5084.

The reason I need one is because my receiver recently had a board die on it. I am nearly positive that it was because of a power outtage. Fuses tend to blow too often at my house. One too many things plugged in and then my mom will turn on her blowdryer. BOOM. Everything goes out.

I need a power conditioner that will keep everything on for a few minutes until I flip the fuse back.

There is no way I'm spending $1200. Maybe when I'm older and have a dope ass $10000 entertainment system... but until then, no way.

Amazon does have very good deals on power conditioners. If you're willing to go up to $200, that's what they billed me for a Monster HTS3600MKII, and it has definitely helped. I also used to blow fuses and trip breakers on a daily basis, but no more. I also don't get any more interference from my refrigerator or microwave, and it can absorb a really big surge. I'm happy with it.

If the one you're talking about goes down to $200, it sounds worth it. I can't afford $250 though.

A power condition won't do that--they "just" clean up the voltage that's there and provide a safety net against surges. WHat you're looking for is an uninterruptable power supply (UPS), which has a battery inside for suplying power when the mains is out.

Well, there's no way a power conditioner is gonna help you. All it does is clean the power line up from noise. And at the price you asking, you are NOT gonna get any good one anyway.

Like the above poster said, you want an uninterruptable power supply (UPS) which kicks in when the power goes out. It runs off a battery for a few minutes until you can power everything off. Your problem is going to be that a home theater system will suck the life out of the battery like a parched vampire. UPS's are designed to supply some power for computers and other small amperage stuff, but UPS's with bigger batteries costs a fortune.

Calculate the wattage required by all the gear and go from there. If you get a unit that cannot supply the amount of wattage your gear sucks up, it's not gonna do you any good, it will probably just reset itself as well. Look for brands like APC. And no, Belkin and Monster do NOT make this kind of stuff.

The link you give & the monster are 2 diffrent things. the link is to a USP & clean power. The monster is just clean power No USP. I would get the Belkin as long as it has the # of plugs (6 w/ clean power + USP) is all that you need
