I need a power conditioner that will keep everything on for a few minutes until I flip the fuse back.

There is no way I'm spending $1200. Maybe when I'm older and have a dope ass $10000 entertainment system... but until then, no way.
Well, there's no way a power conditioner is gonna help you. All it does is clean the power line up from noise. And at the price you asking, you are NOT gonna get any good one anyway.

Like the above poster said, you want an uninterruptable power supply (UPS) which kicks in when the power goes out. It runs off a battery for a few minutes until you can power everything off. Your problem is going to be that a home theater system will suck the life out of the battery like a parched vampire. UPS's are designed to supply some power for computers and other small amperage stuff, but UPS's with bigger batteries costs a fortune.

Calculate the wattage required by all the gear and go from there. If you get a unit that cannot supply the amount of wattage your gear sucks up, it's not gonna do you any good, it will probably just reset itself as well. Look for brands like APC. And no, Belkin and Monster do NOT make this kind of stuff.

Are you sure?

Belkin PureAV® Home Theater Battery Backup with AVR Technology AP30800fc10-BLK
  • Uses 1200VA/640W batteries to provide up to 40 minutes of battery backup power and ensure that memory, settings, or recordings are not lost during power outages

This is on the amazon.com link I provided earlier.

so I guess, the solution is maybe to buy 2 separate APC UPS'. One for the TV and satellite receivers and one for the Receiver and ps3....

That will cost around at least $400.... does that sound about right?

Monster makes that stuff but their UPS sucks horribly. I would look at the APC s15 or s20 that are designed to not only click on when the power goes out but they are also voltage stabilizers so that if the power drops for a bit they'll click on to keep the power constant. That is the thing that will protect you.

$1500 is a little out of my price range....

would a $100 monster surge protector protect my units from blowing a board like I did? I am thinking... I think I have my things plugged into a cheapy one... maybe that didn't stop anything... any ideas?

Sounds to me like your whole circuit is iffy. If you're constantly popping breakers, you've got too much load on that circuit, and no amount of power conditioning or UPSes will change that. Fix the problem, not the symptom!

Doctorsteve, the biggest benefit I've seen on my tv is the video filtering with the power conditioner. The picture is crisper when the conditioner is used. I know that BB pushes Monster Power Centers for $300-400. My brother also has the HTS-3500 that he paid around $350 for 2-3 yrs ago and it really cleaned up the picture on his Toshiba DLP. http://www.amazon.com/Monster-MP-HTS...&sr=8-1 However, I would shop around online before buying one from them if you decide to go that way unless they offer you an absolutely great deal.

hmmmm... that sounds expensive... I don't think my parents would go for paying for an f'in expensive electrician to come out. pardon my french. I think, for now, I'm just going to invest in a really nice surge protector. That should at least protector my units if a fuse blows. It only happens when the large industrial fan and the blow dryer are running at the same time.

I just don't want to lose my receiver for another month and a half again. I can't enjoy my blu's and it makes me sad... I wanna make sure this never happens again!
