you still have to figure how much power your devices (amp/receiver, display, DVD player, anything plugged into it, etc) use... if it totals more than 640 watts (remember this is power consumption, not power out for your amps)... then no...

sorry, if this is all noobie stuff. But you're really helping me a lot. What's the difference between power consumption and power out?

like something like a dishnetwork receiver... how much power consumption should something like that have? I'm not sure where my manual for that is...

Only if you want to pay way more than it's worth though... and support one of the evilest companies out there. http://www.madmartian.com/legal/ for instance, and they actually sued Disney for naming a movie "Monsters, Inc."

everyone sues everyone... and paying more than its worth is subjective... would you say its "worth" the extra 10-20% for a company with a good reputation and great product warranty?

Only buy Furman power conditioners.

Leave the Monster gear to the folks at BestBuy.

When I think of companies with good reputations, Monster is not near the top of my list. And they seem to charge 10-20% more than the 10-20% more than other companies who DO have good reputations charge.

It's also been proven by many studies that in the overall scheme of things paying for extended warranties is a waste of money on almost all items.

For the record, I use a Blue Circle power conditioner, and I highly recommend those.
