where did you pick it up at? Most B&M stores will accept returns on opened yet defective products for up to 30 days... good luck!

Do most places consider 1 stuck pixel to be defective though? I know the manufacturers certainly don't. Have to have multiple close together, or a certain percent usually.

I've actually heard that Sharp Aquos have some problems with stuck pixels.

u may be out of luck. most manufacturers have a pixel exclusion warranty. what it means is that the display is not guaranteed to be 100% perfect. you may get several pixels stuck before they replace the unit under warranty.

What a bunch of BS that these companies don't honor warranties and have dead pixel exclusions. Although it's sucks, buying an in store warranty is almost a must with these new displays. I paid $75 for my like new warranty meaning it will be replaced no questions asked if anything on it becomes defective...including dead pixels over the next 3 years.

Just bring it back to any retailer that sells it asap. All stores have a holiday return policy that will allow you to return items w/ no receipt up till the mid of january for store credit or exchange.

I have the same tv, 42 " SHARP AQUOS , and had a stuck pixel withing a month. I do have the warranty but honestly it's so small that you can't even notice it. I might try to fix it one day. I was told the same thing about returning it though, they won't take it back for just one pixel, it has to be a whole bunch, warranty or no warranty.

As others have suggested, get it to the retailer ASAP and use the store's exchange policy as opposed to the manufacturer's...

Most of the manufacturers have their own specific set of criteria. Some say 5 dead pixels within a square inch, others say less...the store will likely be more flexible assuming you are going to replace your set with another one.

Return it ASAP! If they wont let you exchange it, RAISE HELL! Ask for the Store Manager and give him a swift kick until he agrees. One dead pixel is absolutely irritating. I have never owned anything with a dead one but I have been over at a friends house where we watch BDs and in the dark scenes that one pixel stands out.
