I'm sure the price will drop from the $24.98 MSRP, but I think it's funny that most of those titles were available individually for $4.95 through the WB DVD2BLU promotion.
With that in mind, I've pretty much already picked up the ones I want. |

In the case of these sets, it's not like you can't also get them individually, if that's what you prefer; each film might even be individually packaged within each set for all we know, like Fox and Universal often does. If it encourages adoption of the format, facilitates more catalog titles in stores with limited shelf space, or helps more people to upgrade their dvds to high def, I'm all for it, just as long as it's still three discs rather than three movies, with or without extras, crammed onto a single BD50, which is what's implied by the single disc sticking out of the side on the promo art.

It's all about upping the price points for a store like Walmart. There just isn't much profit in selling individual Blu-rays under a certain price. So instead of seeing WB's catalog properties hit $5 at Walmart, they will try to package them together in one sku.

I suspect you're right, or these will mark the first time BD75s and/or BD100s will be used. That said, Echo Bridge apparently paid for separate encodes for their single disc and combo editions. Even Warner isn't nearly as "lazy" in their authoring as them.

Why? It saves space on the shelf and is not any uglier. Besides I doubt that Desperado will get a single release without El Mariachi because El Mariachi is not a Blu ray that people will buy by itself and a single release of Desperado would have to be even cheaper then what the double pack is going for which defeats the purpose of spending money on repackaging.

I am a fan of one movie one disc. I am okay with 2 movies but they must be on 2 disc and from the same series. (Example Death note collection & D 13 collection) |
