Default Warner Blu-Ray Triple Packs Being Released in January 2012

These will probably be on sale at Best Buy and Amazon for about $18.

Hmm... that Searchers/Wild Bunch/HTWWW pack looks enticing, might grab it when it hits a good price.

I've either got most of those in singles already.

Might get the one with Domino and Long Kiss Goodnight if they have features and how many discs it is.

I'm sure the price will drop from the $24.98 MSRP, but I think it's funny that most of those titles were available individually for $4.95 through the WB DVD2BLU promotion.

With that in mind, I've pretty much already picked up the ones I want.

Why? You know, how about releasing some movies that haven't been released yet on Blu-ray, Warner Bros.? There's a thought. All this 'Double Feature', 'Triple Feature' crap is pointless.

It's cheaper to repackage a movie than create a new master, re-author a new disc, etc. But still.
WARNER BROS. WHY U NO RELEASE BADLANDS ON BLU-RAY???

In the case of these sets, it's not like you can't also get them individually, if that's what you prefer; each film might even be individually packaged within each set for all we know, like Fox and Universal often does. If it encourages adoption of the format, facilitates more catalog titles in stores with limited shelf space, or helps more people to upgrade their dvds to high def, I'm all for it, just as long as it's still three discs rather than three movies, with or without extras, crammed onto a single BD50, which is what's implied by the single disc sticking out of the side on the promo art.

I'm sure it's 3 discs. Warner is way too lazy to re-encode all those movies.

I have most of these titles already. Warner must be trying to appeal to new BD adopters.

It's all about upping the price points for a store like Walmart. There just isn't much profit in selling individual Blu-rays under a certain price. So instead of seeing WB's catalog properties hit $5 at Walmart, they will try to package them together in one sku.

I suspect you're right, or these will mark the first time BD75s and/or BD100s will be used. That said, Echo Bridge apparently paid for separate encodes for their single disc and combo editions. Even Warner isn't nearly as "lazy" in their authoring as them.

Why? It saves space on the shelf and is not any uglier. Besides I doubt that Desperado will get a single release without El Mariachi because El Mariachi is not a Blu ray that people will buy by itself and a single release of Desperado would have to be even cheaper then what the double pack is going for which defeats the purpose of spending money on repackaging.

WB will make money on them from the people just getting a new player. Better IMO than gift wrapped re-releases again for $20 each.

because I put my titles in Alphabetical order and pretty OCD about it.. you stating they wont release a title because you're assuming it wont sell is crazy.. they release lesser known titles all the time.. Idel Hands just got announced for crying out loud

I'm not a fan of these. One more thing is, it becomes problematic to arrange these on the shelves. Not being a troll but these sets remind me of the bootlegs being sold in the streets.

I have The Last Boy Scout individual BD release. But it is a region free import from the UK. ( i bought it because I did not want that US double feature)

I am a fan of one movie one disc. I am okay with 2 movies but they must be on 2 disc and from the same series. (Example Death note collection & D 13 collection)

I'll pick up the pack with the Watchmen in it, all 3 of those are good moviies that I don't have. If it's a good price and they are 3 cases wrapped together and not all in one case.
