Default Contract?

is universal under contract with hd-dvd to release hd-dvd's for a certain period of time, or are they just sticking by hd-dvd until it completely dies.

and are the blu-ray exclusive studios under contract with blu-ray. because i remeber in like november there was speculation that lionsgate was going over to hd-dvd

I remember reading something on these forums claiming that Universal was under contract w/ Toshiba thru 2006, but I don't remember seeing any hard evidence to back that up. For Lionsgate, I've heard nothing, and back then things were looking better for HD-DVD, so people could have said that about Lionsgate thinking that BR wouldn't survive. Then again, I haven't seen hard evidence about any of it.

Edit: Read this about Universal: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...6674#post66674
