U have to have a program that enables you to network your media. Windows Media Player has this feature. Then you have to enable the Meadia Server Connection under the Network Settings for the PS3. Someone else that has more experiance with this can better tell you how to do it. Or I am sure you can find more info if you do a search here or check the other sites. The Online instruction manual on your PS3 probably has some good info on what to do also.

Yeah, you need a uPNP media server on your PC, and a router that supports uPNP routing. TVersity is software that does it. There are others about.

I just setup my ps3 with my computer today. I have an ibook (mac). I got this thing... (http://www.nullriver.com/products/medialink) . Someone on here recommended it to me. It's only $20.
Here's the thread. A few others are named for pc users and the like.

Thing is I get errors a lot. I think it's cause I'm doing it wirelessly. I don't know. I am thinking of hooking up my ps3 to the landline. Not sure how. I might have to go under the house.... not looking forward to that.
This is a must for online gaming, but I wonder if it will make a difference in my medialink thing.

I am wondering, do I need to be over a hardline between my laptop and my ps3 in order to get the full potential of my media server link? If that's so, I guess I'm SOL.

i find myself constantly defending the ps3 vs the 360 because all of my friends have the 360. I defended the ps3 even before owning it because of how amazing the ps2 is and of all the features i could do. In February i finally got the tv, audio, ps3 and invited my friends over to debut the beast Needless to say out of my 10 friends who were over here 4 of them did not have a console and because of my setup they were convinced ps3 is the way to go . They were so impressed with the slideshow / music , youtube on the browser, remote play with psp and i didn't even show them a blu ray or a game yet . I popped in the fifth element, put the opera scene and watched all the jaws simultaneously drop and myself with a huge grin on my face. I then proceeded to put Uncharted and let them drool all over the sexy drake. On top of that , i started hooking up my mouse and keyboard to which they answered wtf are you doing? To which i answered, it's time play unreal tournament 3 of course. I showed them home and than told them it was free .

I think it was a ps3 overload but i'm glad i got some people to actually think for a second and not just believe in all the "360 hype". I'm also glad because hopefully i'll get some of my friends to play online with
