I got a lot of Betamax, VHS, LaserDisc, and 8 MM stuff to convert. But certainly NOT to HD DVD.

I was wondering who would develop such a strange thing and why we never heard of it.

I figured it was an April fools joke before watching the video. It was totally lame and gay.

Including Betamax and HD-DVD in one post is just not on!!!

One format was the superior one, the other was the inferior one. Therefore they have nothing in common!!!

That is why I waited it out so long..... I was worried that the inferior format would win out again, thank god that didn't happen. I honestly think if information was as easily communicated in the Beta-Max vs. VHS days, Beta-Max may have won out...... with the internet now, people can go out, find info, and make more educated decisions..... the Price-minded one-dimensional consumers were the ones to flood the internet with false information saying HD DVD was better. I purchased an HD DVD player 2 days after I got my Blu Player, not because I didn't think Blu was going to win at that point, but because I knew there were enough movies out there, and I was in the market for an upconverting player anyways for the bedroom, and rather than buy 2 blu players, I got an HD DVD player dirt cheap, and I have no regrets.

The people who say HD DVD is "Better" are the people who

A) Believe the hype etc. and don't know any better
B) Are trying to justify their purchase, and are so consumed in a lie (to themselves) that they actually "believe" it's better.
C) Got into HD DVD early, and tried to fool others into the format to keep it alive.
D) Bought based on price for upconversion recently, and don't buy HD DVDs and/or know there is a difference.

The average consumer is not very educated, and the info is out there, but P.T. Barnum said..........
