I already have the following on preorder for the 24th:

Night at the Museum
Planet Earth: The Complete Collection
The Queen

Does that count for this special purchase?

Yep, I'm going to order:

Dragon's Lair
Enter the Dragon
Happy Feet (maybe)

Does pre-orders qualify as an order that day?

Yes, I believe it registers in the rankings.

Blood Diamond
Curse Of The Golden Flower

I'd buy some ... if more titles were available in the UK!

I'm after The Prestige, Superman Returns and Superman II - The Donner Cut, none of which are out in the UK yet

No, because in my opinion, these buyathons are a waste of effort. All they seem to do is keep the 'activists' in each camp busy, while analysts just see a blip in the figures and then everything returns to the status quo. Let's be honest, it's DVD's sales that both formats have to make an impression on, not necessarily eachother's. At the moment, they're fighting over being the new Laserdisc...

Please stop threadcrapping every buy-athon thread. If you're not interested in joining in stop trying to convince others not to. You say we're fighting over being the new Laserdisc, but people like you who invested in HDDVD are doing more to make that happen than we are.

yuup...he makes it like this is silly (even though I personally don't feel the need to join)..but he owns both HD formats....and pretty much an equal number of discs...

that's twice as silly...

The thread asked for opinions. That's mine. If you take your statement to its logical extreme, then people who are pro-the buyathons shouldn't be allowed to state their opinions any more than once either.

If you have a problem with my posts, I suggest you refer them to a moderator. I have done nothing wrong whatsoever.

In your opinion. I'm just enjoying twice as much HD-goodness as I would if I went for just one format or the other.

Please keep your opinions about my choices to yourself, as I do regarding yours.

I don't have a problem with your post. I'm just pointing out that you are being a hypocrite when you say we are trying to diffuse the adoption of Blu-ray when you, being format neutral, are doing a lot more to make that happen.
