I hope Steven Spielberg realises this has to be a passing-the-torch film and not a Harrison Ford-in-the-main-role Indiana Jones. They need Chris Pratt as Indiana Jones' other son to take on 'Indiana Jones' as a title and carry the legacy forward.

Well I'll second "enough with the Chris Pratt". Indy (and anyone who replaces him) is supposed to be an academic. Has Chris Pratt ever played any character who you would believe had an advanced degree in Archeology? Even Harrison Ford just squeaked by in that regard. Chris Pratt is good at playing the dumb funny action guy.
I would like to see someone replace Ford (if that's even possible, but I suppose if you could replace Sean Connery as James Bond, you could replace Ford) who displays a bit of innate intelligence. I hope they don't go the "another son I didn't know I had" route. That's not going to be very believable. That's like cheap soap opera TV writing. But they also can't really have Jones die unless they're willing to ignore the very aged character in the "Young Indiana Jones Chronicles". They could have Jones meet up with some hidden native civilization and he decides to stay there and he passes the baton to whoever is the young sidekick in the next film. That would leave an opening for him to return to civilization. Frankly, I'd rather see the next film made without Ford. I thought he was terrible in the last one - he seemed like he was an actor doing a Harrison Ford impersonation. The quicksand scene was especially horribly acted. But he was pretty damned good as Branch Rickey in the Jackie Robinson film bio. If he can bring that kind of both humor and gravitas to the next film, he could make it great. |

I want a movie starring Harrison Ford. And only that.
But IF they do it with another actor, I would like to see it happen like this, kinda : We see the older Indiana Jones (still played by Harrison Ford) getting an object that confronts him with a mystery he never was able to solve. We go back to his younger years, where we see the story that was attached to that itme, full of adventure and action. So, a younger Indy, (played by Anthony Ingruber). That would take us back to a time that's closer to the Original movies also. In the end, it's Ford who finds what's to find. And ofcours it has to be written in that way we learn something new about what's driving him etc. Sounds cliché, but it all comes down to good writing and great performances, much like "Mr. Holmes" this year. That's just the way I see it. Ingruber played the younger Ford in "The Age of Adaline" and did a great job. I was afraid it would feel like a lookalike trying to be Ford, but it wasn't like that at all. |

Can't remember his name at the moment but would like to see them bring back his sidekick from Temple of Doom. Have Indy sick or something and his long time friend comes to check on him. Finds out that Indy is like this because of his last adventure. So he decides to find out what happened.

Chris Pratt is awesome...
Quote:
Everybody starts somewhere and Chris Pratt was very Indiana Jones in Jurassic World. He doesn't need to have played somebody who had an Archeology degree before, he just needs to be like Owen in JW. Quote:

I'm not upset at the news. Im upset at the lack of actual journalism for across the Internet...it's clear he's joking, yet everyone's running it like it's really happening. They're setting people's hopes up for failure by doing that, and it lacks professionalism. If this is real, expect Spielberg to put Daniel Day-Lewis in every other film, because he said that too. Just saying... |

I would like to see a Chris Pratt version of Indiana Jones to know if it would work, but I think he comes across as a lovable goofball in both Guardians and Jurassic. I don't see the serious archeologist side in him at all. I actually wonder if a scruffy Michael Fassbender could work for the role.

The funniest internet story I remember is one that said George Lucas was responding to the claims of racism in The Phantom Menace by adding a martial arts Asian and a spiritual Native American to the sequel. And all the websites picked it up and ran with it! Even Variety! Did no one stop and think about it for a second? |
