I'm sure that higher bit rate would be especially helpful on certain dark episodes. It seems like the lowest quality stream of Game of Thrones is the stream directly from HBO, using HBO GO and I am assuming that HBO GO is comparable to HBO NOW.

I think that I'm going to switch to Amazon HBO when my month is up with HBO NOW, as it's the same price, I have fast internet, and I obviously want to watch this show in the best quality that I can, since I am paying for it after all. Based on what I saw on other sites where users compared the streams, it's the difference between 9-10 Mbps and 5-6 Mbps, neither of which are very high bitrates, but 10 sounds a lot better than 5 to me.

I've been using HBO Now but, after reading your post, I got a free month trial of Amazon Prime, and another 7 day trial of HBO on Prime Video. Happy to say, episode 3 does indeed look a lot better on Prime Video.

Don't think they were really thinking about it from a story standpoint. They wanted to get rid of the horses.

Notice the lack of animals in this episode. They barely made room for Ghost and he disappeared after the initial charge.

They shouldn’t have been so cavalier about sending troops into a suicidal situation.

Well there is quite a lot of speculation that we have not seen the last of the NK. Perhaps in the physical sense yes, but there are a lot of theories that the NK (or the wights) must always be present in the world of Westeros in order to maintain a balance.

Perhaps the person that kills the NK, becomes the future NK (queen)?

Movies and TV aren't always about logical choices though. If they had done it your way, then that takes away some of the drama, and suspense. By sending in the Dothraki first, it's like you said, they die and come back as an army of dead. Thus, creating more drama and suspense.

Trenches are beneficial for a long term strategic warfare when you're fighting an enemy that isnt constantly on the move, not so much for the undead suicidal horde that will come to you no matter what. Their plan was to get to the nk as soon as possible, trenches dont really make sense here. Plus they would have died anyway, Jon and Dany arent great with sticking to the plan.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the episode scored a 75%, which is the lowest rated since an episode in season 5. Season 8, as a whole, is the lowest rated season currently, but there are still 3 episodes left where it can rebound. But this is not surprising. I've always felt that GoT was going to have a polarizing finish. Episode 3 was the start of it. I think episodes 4-6 are likely to be polarizing as well.
