Nothing can fix for me how poorly done the ending was. So much packed into such a tiny amount of time. One of the worst possible choices to ascend to the throne. So little carnage for a show where probably 90% or more of the main characters should've died in the final season. Also, Aegon Targaryen should've been executed for murdering the queen, justified or not.

One of the points the article made. Something that once stood for shocking deaths and no character being safe suddenly transformed into each character having plot armor and too many survivors for the sake of a ‘happy’ ending.

You wipe out the khalasar and most of the unsullied and somehow Khaleesi still has a massive army at the end. Then despite their queen being executed, the Khalasar doesn't torch King's Landing to the ground and just seize power. Not to mention I can't wrap my brain around the still grieving Grey Worm just letting Jon Snow run away to live in the North.

Despite all of the sins of the second half of season 8, I think it's still the best show ever, you just have to pick a better ending in your imagination. To me, that's Daenerys and Aegon Targaryen sacking King's Landing and splitting the rule of the Kingdoms. Aegon appointing his sister Warderness in the North and ruling with Daenerys in the South. Grey Worm and Missandei surviving the horrible wars to live together on Naath, etc.

I will eventually get the entire series on 4k or BD, just waiting to see which box sets we get first.

In a few years when this is remade due to all the books being out maybe it will be done right over 10 seasons as it should have been. With luck once House of Dragon is finished they will remake this and put them together in 1 big box set

Perhaps D&D forgot how Dany’s Khalasar/Bloodriders worked. I made a post about the contradiction that occurred with Jon’s actions.

Basically whoever killed the current Khal becomes the new one, but since Dany seemingly made them her Bloodriders, they should’ve killed the assassin. But didn’t.

Then again, Grey Worm must’ve been dumb enough into believing Jon being ‘exiled’ to the Wall was ‘punishment’ when really it was for Jon’s freedom. And since him and the remaining Unsullied had no standing power in King’s Landing.

Apparently the actor who plays Tormund Giantsbane had COVID 19 but is recovering nicely.

Pure conjecture, but I doubt we will ever read A Dream of Spring.

Been rewatching the series. Doing about 3-5 episodes a day. Halfway through Season 4 (my personal favorite, followed by the third season).

Having seen the series to its end and looking back, it brings on a different perspective knowing which characters outcomes are and how those conclusions have been conceived even as early as the first season.

For shits and giggles I turned on Season 8 Episode 3 The Long Night on my OLED via HBO Max to see how much better it looks, My god the detail in that episode is incredible. Its amazing what you can actually see when you can see the picture.

Oh shit, really? Damn...I only remember it being blocky to all hell and murky the entire time. This was via streaming the episode on HBO Now.

I don't know how much of a difference that specific episode has on the Blu-ray disc for reference in comparing the HBO Max version.

Episode 3 was the first episode I watched, when I got my 4k steelbook. The difference is huge, compared to when I first watched the episode via streaming on HBO.

Ive heard from many the 4K UHD HDR version of the episode is probably one of the best looking episodes ever. I am still patiently waiting for the entire 4K UHD box set but sadly I dont see HBO releasing it anytime soon.

I'm sure as hell not buying just seasons 1 & 8 in UHD 4K its the entire series or nothing for me

Ahh...okay. Yeah, I bought the Complete Collection wooden box.

Beautiful set. I can only imagine how much more expensive a UHD set would be

I'm also down with a complete series box set in 4k. I agree it makes no sense to just have part of the saga in ultra hd. HBO did the same thing with the Soprano's, having just the first and last seasons on blu ray for the longest time, and then finally releasing a complete blu box set.
If anyone from HBO marketing reads these forums i hope they get a sense that there is a market for this series in 4k.

I have all seasons except 8 on Blu-ray but would definitely be interested in double-dipping for a complete series 4K set. The possibility/hope of such is why I haven't bought season 8 actually.

Same here. But I have finally given up and ordered season 8 on blu-ray. So probably with my usual luck, a 4K set will be announced within a couple of months. **** you HBO. Take my money.

If some may remember, there was a minor incident from the first season where the props department claimed they made "an honest mistake" when they used a President Bush head with a wig and mounted it on a pike. HBO decided to pull it from subsequent airings and home video releases and edited in a new face.

I bought the first season Blu-ray from Best Buy around when it first came out, before the Bush head got pulled, and was wondering how rare it is?
