I love that movie. Another one that deserves a UHD.
Damn good movie. I think that's OCD at its most severe.

Now that Kino has been able to get a deal with Paramount with films they released on DVD, I think it's only a matter of time before they get a deal with WB. I think that's the last of the classic major studios they haven't worked with.

I mean, there’s 20 recent pages here about movies that Kino is not releasing, so discussing why you prefer to buy Kino releases over imports seems like as valid a topic as any. Convos often veer off, or so I’m told, but they likely resolve once a new one comes along. Cheers.

Catch the Heat (1987)
• Theatrical Trailer
• Reversible Art
• Limited Edition O-Card
• Optional English Subtitles

Color 87 Minutes 1.85:1 Rated R
Tiana Alexandra (The Killer Elite) is Checkers Goldberg. She’s tough and she’s deadly. Like a one-woman strike force, she punches, kicks and shoots her way from the streets of San Francisco to the underbelly of South America in the sizzling, action-packed thrill-ride, Catch the Heat. Following a grisly trail of violence to Buenos Aires, Checkers masquerades as exotic dancer Cinderella Pu and discovers that kingpin Jason Hannibal—deviously played by screen great Rod Steiger (A Fistful of Dynamite)—is smuggling heroin out of the country by surgically implanting the contraband inside the bodies of unsuspecting young women. Pretending to submit to Hannibal’s gruesome operation, Checkers is suddenly plunged into the ultimate confrontation where only her wits and blazing martial arts savvy can save her. Co-starring David Dukes (Rawhead Rex), Professor Toru Tanaka (An Eye for an Eye, The Perfect Weapon) and Brian Thompson (Cobra), this explosive ’80s actioner features direction by Joel Silberg (Breakin’, Rappin’, Lambada) from a script by award-winning screenwriter Stirling Silliphant (In the Heat of the Night, Charly, The Towering Inferno).

At this point we don't know what titles Kino picked up from Paramount so hoping for certain films is pretty much expected. It just seems strange to me to reply in a Kino thread where someone is hoping for a release from Kino and ultimately saying "Don't take a chance and wait! Get it cheap elsewhere!". I'm perfectly able to wait for a US release and again would simply ask you to not remind me of international releases when I'm asking for US release from Kino in the Kino thread. Cheers.

Same. I love Rod Steiger, even with his over acting later years, as he really has a presence. I'll be picking this one up for sure.

Question for the KLI. Let's say hypothetically that KLSC has acquired Is Paris Burning? for Blu-ray release. Would Kino be interested in offering a true "international" version (I think I read somewhere that Paramount has one). That is, a version where we hear the original French, German, and English voices as filmed? The only version the US has had on home video is the 1966 English dub, which is ugly and badly dated.

I love Catch the Heat. Always thought VS might eventually grab it for a VSA release, seems perfect for that line. Some really wild dialog in this one.

Happy to have it on blu ray from anyone though.

Kino Insider - There are 3 1989 titles to reveal in the MGM deal. Can you say how many of these are new to Blu-ray? Thanks.

And the US ratings on usually on the back of the packaging, sometimes on the disc, but they're small and classy looking.

Didn't you get the memo? It's verboten to discuss here! I doubt there's many US folks who actually want to own it with German text. They just want to own it, so that's the compromise to watch it on disc. Until you give us the word it's kommt. I'm always game to upgrade.
