Are Projection HDTVs any good?

Hello everyone,

This topic probably seems a bit "noobish" but that is really not the case. I own an LCD tv, grandparents own a Plasma, both are badass. My only exposure to projections has been at my uncles, and a friends. My uncle has a 42 inch hitachi projection. The friend also has a Hitachi but I think it's 50 inches. Anyways, I felt like both of these tv's pretty much sucked a$$. I watched high-def cable on both and neither really looked good, certainly not as good as HD shows or movies look on my LCD tv. I was just wondering if all projections tv's suck this bad or if it's just the Hitachi brand.
