I haven't had the pleasure of comparing a lot of HDTVs but I can say for certain that the Mits 55" HDTV I own has an excellent picture. It's a rear projection set from a couple of years ago. I couldn't be more impressed for this amount of money. I spent $2200 on it then, the new model is at Best Buy for about $1800 now. I cannot say the same of the PQ of the Samsung and Panasonic RP HDTVs I owned previously.

buy lcd from samsung or sharp, dlp and lcos aren't bad either . Just don't go for plasma, too expensive and too many holes in technology :P
