Default If you play ps2/psone on ps3...use component.

I have about 20 titles on ps2 that i still enjoy, and decided to try them out via my shiney new ps3. Instantly I noticed that via HDMI these were forced to 480p, but the result were less than satisfactory. I don't know whats going on inside the ps3, but when you use HDMI and ity has to output a 480i source it just turns it to pure blurr.

SO I decided to try out component, since i've had good luck with it on xbox360 and my cable boxes. It looks the same on the Blu-Ray movies and Resistance, Motorstorm demo...but my psone, ps2 games look better than ever. They are upscaled to 480p (all of them) unless you go in and select "custom" and de-select 480p otherwise it adds a softness to games that are native 480i. I never thought i'd say I have a ps3 via y-pb-pr...but it fits the bill and I will leave it this way until sony releases an update that can adress these issues (if ever).

Until then, I feel like i'm losing nothing, the picture is clear and crisp and there is zero interferance. I suggest anyone interested in a lil old school gaming as well as new, use this method...or leave both connected and switch between them in the dashboard (more work than I was prepared to do).
