Though I am no where near Austin Texas and will never be able to attend a Mondo Mystery Movie night, I do like what they are doing with the next one which is giving a poster to everyone in attendance... I think that is a cool idea.
That is why they are charging $75 per Mystery Movie ticket, because at that price you get admission into the movie and the print. I think the limit was 10 tickets per person, but unsure how that works. What they probably do is once they sell out, they figure out how many tickets they sold and make that number of prints plus probably a few extras for staff, etc. So if the theater holds 200 people, and they have 200 tickets to sell, there will be at least 200 prints produced.

Some people do just that, I think you are thinking that every single person who purchases a Mondo print quickly flips it, when they don't. Many of them collect, some have huge collections, and they appreciate them for years, while others simply enjoy the thrill of trying to get one, in hopes to turn a quick profit. I actually don't see a problem with either. If a person wants to collect, they have that right, but if a person wants to take the time to buy, wait to get it shipped, re-sell it and make a profit, they can do that as well. Those that purchased the earlier Mondo prints, say for example "The Thing" by Stout, when they originally went on sale for $40, were very wise to sit on them and appreciate them, because a mere three years later, that print sell for over $2000. That is quite a return on one's investment. That print is one I want, but sadly is out of my price range unless I win the lottery.

With all the exposure Mondo has gotten over the past few years, especially the last year and a half, the demand has risen greatly, but the supply hasn't. Mondo wants to get their prints limited, but they have also helped out by increasing the print runs on certain artists too. Stout prints used to be around 200 in size, now they can be upwards of 600+. Sure, Mondo makes more money increasing the print sizes, which sometimes is dictated by the license holder themselves, but in this case, more collectors have a chance of getting one, but the flip side of that coin is more resellers can too.

The trailer looks good, I have enjoyed all the MI films too, I was hoping to have gotten up to Vancouver to watch them film earlier this year, but never got a chance. Say what you will about Cruise, his films are usually always quite good and doing his own stunts is generally something you don't see by Hollywood actors.

It's boggles the mind when I see fellow dealers selling fan made stuff.
I was surprised to see that too... the also have a 'fan made' spider man poster... speaking of which... are there any real advances for that one coming around soon?

Mondo is creating a bunch of douchebag money hungry animals with their "limited edition art posters". I'll still be going for the stuff Cinema Overdrive and other small groups put out though.

Oh and they're all about the art and artist. Look how much loot has been given to Ebay/Paypal over the last year in fees. If you add it up it's probably more than the artists received in compensation.

Nice collection you have going there!

roar that KB is beautiful! Congrats buddy, those are all going to look sick framed up.
I feel your pain man... but hang in there... their prints are just so great, at least keep entering Stout's lottery, though I haven't been chosen yet, it is pretty painless to do.

The thing is Mondo has gotten really big, really fast, and while I feel they are doing a great job, and am happy for their success, they should catch their breath a little. Remember to sign up to their newsletter so you get the notification a day early as to when/what is going on sale, but then on release day, its all a "random time" but in 95% of the cases the drops always occur before 10:30am pacific time.
I'm a huge Stout fan, but I'd put my money behind the Moss one's for this set. I just really like the colours and the simplicity of them. Naturally I wouldn't turn any of them away... I'm just throwing my two cents in.

Unsure if an actual poster for Amazing Spider-Man is even out there yet. I saw the one on MoviePoster.com's website you spoke of, not sure if that is a fan-made one, but I do know it's NOT an official movie poster. Since it has a Marvel.com logo at the bottom, my guess is it was nothing more than a promotional image, perhaps someone pulled that image from the site and added the "Spider-Man 4" title at the bottom to match the Spider-Man 2 logo, personally it's quite risky what they are selling on their site. Perhaps they have a license to do so, I somehow doubt it, but that, along with selling that fan-made Dark Knight Rises print is all risky stuff to be selling, I personally wouldn't myself.

Oh the Moss one were nice, very simplistic design, I certainly wouldn't turn them away either, but I am a big Stout fan myself as well.

Roar, did you mean to say you got the Captain America from a Mondo drop or from a reseller? Only reason I ask is because I didn't think Mondo took International orders from people, which is unfortunate.

I believe that was an International style, I don't believe it was part of the domestic marketing campaign in theaters, so that will make it even harder to find. If I come across something, I will let you know.

AFAIK they ship international, or at least to Canada. My shipping info was all legit and a shipping rate was calculated, so I hope it shows up

Oh yes. The Poster Centre just called, my Terminator 2, Stout's Star Wars and Total Recall posters just got finished being framed. I'll post some pictures later tonight!

Life's been so busy with the new baby that I haven't had time or money to do much over the past 5-6 months, I need to get back into the Mondo posters! The Captain America Hydra stuff is amazing!

G'day all,
I was going through my Star Wars collection the other day actually looking for a poster of the Australin band Cold Chisel, when i found some old daybill posters. These are unique to Australia. Amongst these were Blade runner. Temple of doom, The Mission, Witness and Nuts. Some of these would be highly sought after but I think that I'll hond on to them until the time is right to sell. I aslo have the orignal trilogy posters but ep4 is very badly faded. Personally I feel that it adds character to the poster.

I've ordered a bunch of posters from them, no problems shipping to Canada, but they take a REALLY long time, usually 6 weeks.
