I pre-ordered the complete saga @ amazon.co.uk, can't wait to view all 6 movies in 1080p and lossless audio!

My personal opinion on the no, nooooo change, I think it works pretty well, not going to cancel my pre-order.
I do agree it would be cool if they would release the unaltered OT on blu as well.

Only a couple of days left!

Lucas than proceeds to get up roll his eyes and walks out of the room.
This is a silly hypothetical. There's no reason why the original negatives can't be restored to a point where they are not shoddy. As a fan of the series -- wouldn't you want this work done in general?

Maybe this restoration work would cost a few million dollars. Money that he would more than make back by releasing the UOT on DVD and BD, streaming, iTunes, syndication, etc.

Not to even mention the fact that he has a net worth of roughly $3.5 billion, largely due to these films and the investments he made with the proceeds. Tossing some cash towards ensuring that they are available to be released in the future just seems like good business sense to me.

Believe me i would love to see the UOT on Blu- but it seems as though with Lucas it goes in one ear and out the other.

Just so it's all clear, i don't mind the changes mostly:
I have not yet heard the No...Nooooo
I did hear the Boga call in A New Hope, it's a terrible overlay, very bad ADR...
It's the VIDEO PRESENTATION i'm upset about, especially the shoddy work on a new hope...
Sabers, Grain, Blacks... I see bad visuals and it rips me out. I notice stuff alot more than most others I know...

Does anyone know what the "in store" price will be for the entire set at Wal-Mart? I have no Targets or Best Buys where I live

Thanks

This kind of info is why I check this thread every day (hour).
Looks like Target has the saga for 79.99 - I'm hoping for BB at 69.99.

Doesn't Walmart Price match those stores?
Hopefully we'll see all these prices over the next day or so.

Because there's plenty of detail and it's miles better than the DVD and HDTV versions.

I guess, it is "fine", "ok", "acceptable". It should/could have been better.

Maybe they would if I had those stores around me, but I don't. They don't even match their own online prices most of the time. Right now the price seems to be $90.00 at Wal-Mart (online price).

This was shot digitally I believe, so the fact that they were able to remove whatever minimal grain there was, wouldn't have taken away much.
