But what about the height of the door. I guess you could apply the same logic as you mentioned but who has a door that huge with a hole thats only about 9ft maybe 10ft high?

I find it very strange that people would dedicate so much time and thought trying to pick apart every tiny flaw in a movie or go as far to analyze every individual frame. It's almost like they WANT to find flaws. It clearly has to be some sort of mental condition. OCD maybe? Maybe some people are just huge geeks with entirely too much time on their hands?

Yes, because everyone who's interested in film and enjoys finding all the little nuances that Lucas adds every release is a nutcase...

I find it odd that althought the people picking out the changes and flaws have been criticized time and time again, there are still people posting comments like this every 3 pages or so

Do you know what OCD is? People with OCD do not fret over changes made to their favourite movie...

I am saying the top of the door and right side looking out is obscured by the next wall curvature. You can't tell how wide on the right and top the actual door is from looking out.

Funny thing is I just unwrapped the plastic off it and it looks glorious! 18 years old and the outer cases that hold the discs are in great condition. I feel like I am back in 1993! and that NEW laserdisc smell... OH my god Do you guys recall that smell! reminds me of opening my Lion King set back in the day also.

and my god is the image quality bad haha

Glad you got your hands on that set! It's quite a treat. I wonder if you got the 1st pressing or the "better" later pressing which restores about 7-10 seconds of dialog in Empire and fixes the audio commentary listings on the included booklet. I have two of these 1993 sets, both of them are the 1st pressing with "issues" but I love them and they play fine!

I also have the 'Faces' CLV set, Special Edition LD set and the Japan "Collectors" edition which I received on the same day I got the Blu-Ray. The artwork for the set is beautiful and it even came with 'From Star Wars to Jedi' on LD! Too bad the subtitles are burned it, but it's still fun to watch.

Yes the Blu-Ray will blow the LD away in picture quality, but the LD (and 2006 DVD version as well) are still good ways to watch the original unaltered trilogy.
I think this is the early first pressing according to the catalog # - Which is fine since I didn't want it to view the films much. I know what was the point haha. but still It looks glorious.

I'm not a big Star Wars geek, but I DID notice after watching ROTJ tonight, that there are several shots of the flying ships still with the compisit box floating around the graphics. In SOME shots, it's been cleaned and erased and in other shots, it's SO obvious and it takes you out of the fantasy of the film and screams CHEAP SPECIAL EFFECT!

I really would have thought George Lucas would have done a beter job of cleaning this up since he keeps going back and tweaking these films SO much.

Yes, I was actively looking for inconsistencies during the door scenes, and didn't see any. Remember the big spider robot that comes from one side, and continues going on to the other? Maybe there's a big hallway there that doesn't extend to the main chamber. Who knows? It's just a movie.

Just watched AOTC. No audio glitches or problems of any kind that many have reported. This confirms that the audio glitches are limited to certain players/receivers rather than the discs.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, I have just finished all six films using a PS3 and Sony receiver set to LPCM (the receiver isn't capable of bitstream). I would like to report that I have no menu glitches, no skips, and no audio drop-outs of any kind in any of my films. it is likely those with a PS3 who are having problems either have their Internet on or Bitstream is giving them issues. I know that's been said before, but for those who missed it, just an FYI.

Also, I thought ROTJ was breathtakingly beautiful and incredible sounding. Great way to end the OT. Fantastic presentation. The only OT film I was disappointed with was ANH and that was because I was hoping for more shadow detail. If anybody around here has any idea if the film has always been this dark in its theatrical presentation, please PM me or something so I can find out without it getting lost in this thread while I sleep. I really want to know if there's more to the image shadows than what we got on the Blu or not. It's been driving me crazy.

I also watched them in chronological order for the first time this go-around. I won't do that again. It really cheapens the OT's emotional highs and drama, plus it makes the effects look hokey after all that digital work. And the films make no sense without a proper introduction to the Force and to the Jedi lifestyle - which, in all fairness, doesn't happen until Obi-wan starts training Luke in A New Hope. And Vader seems like a pansy after seeing Anakin fall. George could have handled his story so much better and with a few far more interesting ideas.

I might try 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6 next time. Or just do the OT followed by the PT as usual.

Overall, very pleased with the Blus and the extras I've watched so far. Glad I didn't ditch my DVDs but pleased that there's new material What a great collection!

Half way through Empire Strikes Back. Seems like they changed the scene with Vader talking to the Emperor.

Did anyone else notice, I mean they changed it yet again for the Blu Ray. "The young rebel who destroyed the death star. I have no doubt this boy is the offspring of Anakin Skywalker"

Not really sure this adds anything this change seems pointless?

Pretty sure that is new

EDIT: think this was mentioned before.

Such a pointless change anyways

That's been there since at least 2004, if not 1997. I think. I remember it being there before anyways, and I think it's one the scenes Adywan tried to change back for his edits. So unless I'm crazy, it's now a new change to Blu. Although you're correct when you say how pointless it is.

I just wish Ian's makeup and costume was more like ROTJ and less like ROTS. On Blu it looks like he ages 20 years in the span of three.

You sure its been there a while, I see 3 versions on youtube

1) The original with chimp eyes
2) Ian McDiarmiud with the same dialogue which works quite well as the projection of the sith is inline with 1.
3) A very glossy projection with new dialogue.

Quite bizarre they settled on 3, pretty sure I did not see this on any other version

But I could be wrong

That was uploaded a year ago so I'm certain it's from the DVDs despite its resolution. That dialogue was added when they redid the scene. I'm assuming we're talking about the same change, right?

These are Audio clips from the films.

Emporer Speech In UOT

Emporer Speech In the 2004 DVD

Click the links to hear the different versions. Is the DVD the same as the BD you just listened too?

EDIT: Sounds like the DVD is the same as the BD.

I didn't notice any BD changes to that scene. I've always hated the new dialogue though.

Wow, they didn't even correct Anakin/Vader's hand at the end of III when landing on Mustafar. Kind of lazy.
