Blu-ray pricing/lack of sales complaints: POST HERE ONLY

My question to all you Blu-ray supporters is, now that Blu-ray has won the format war, do you think that prices will be affected that there is no Hi-Def compitition.

Some friends of mine and I were discussing whether HD DVD's would go up in price for the high demand in a failing format, or dwindle because the format will become and has become obsolite. We came to the conclusion that HD DVD's that were popular, example Transformers, would go up in price, while unpopular HD DVD's would sell for cheap.

This lead us to our next question, will the price of Blu-ray movies and/or players be affected by the conclusion of this format war.

Overtime the prices will come down. short term there might be some upward pressure due to increase demand now if fence sitters and former HD-dvd players are starting to buy BD playerls. But this should help future prices come down when economy of scale.

Another issue is the falling dollar which makes it more expensive to import goods. If a lot of parts or players are manufactured in Japan then there is going to be some pressure to increase prices to maintain profit and margins
