We have had this discussion. At least I made a point of bringing it up several times. The solution (to me) is a combo player. They can keep their current stock of movies and migrate to blu-ray. Thus only loosing the cost of an existing HD-DVD only player and not hundreds in movie costs.

Some argue this will only help HD-DVD to thrive. But my point is that when Paramount finally gives it up and goes back to blu-ray, the point becomes moot. BECAUSE HD-DVD WILL NO LONGER BE MADE. So what if it helps sustain it a little longer? The long term plan is to phase it out.

Maybe I am saying it wrong. No one seems to understand my point.
