Movies
Every time you watch one, post the name of the movie, rating and your thoughts on it. This should get everyone into the Halloween spirit and give us movie buffs ideas on movies we may not have seen. Please keep your thoughts generic and if you post spoilers, use the spoiler tags. The movies do NOT have to be on Blu-ray!

Ratings:
Abysmal, would never watch again!
Poor excuse for a horror film, but it had one or two moments of horrific joy.
Average hack 'n slash fun.
Greatness is almost achieved, lots of blood/guts/suspense.
The pinnacle of scary movies...it's one of kind. There's nothing like it!

Oh, yes! Once again, that marvelous time of the year has arrived. Football is getting into high gear, the Halloween candies, treats and decor are on shelves along with pumpkin spice everything and it appears that that cool fall air has made it to my neck of the woods already making things much more exciting. It's time for another round of horror flicks, new and old along with Halloween related fare.

9/8:
The Conjuring: Last Rites (2025) *Theatrical viewing*
It did feel a bit like the first movie but it was still very effective entry with plenty of legit tension and creepy moments plus the Warren characters remain this franchise's heart and best aspect. It's cool to see their story go out on a positive note.
9/16:
Se7en (1995) *Theatrical viewing*
This movie is awesome. A dark, grimy and disturbing neo-noir detective crime thriller in the vein of The Silence of the Lambs and like that film, it's a masterclass in suspense, tension and atmosphere with top notch performances, cinematography, script and score that even after 30 years, it's still a very effective and highly intense horror thriller.

You know, I truly have no idea how many people out there actually read or even enjoy what I have to post in these "31 Days Of Halloween Movies" threads.
I mean, I guess it doesn't really matter because this is purely for fun and not a popularity contest or anything like that.
But still, I can't help being rather curious to find out if all this effort is worth anyone's time or not.
So like any reputable mad scientist, I decided I should possibly do something a bit different this year and conduct a little experiment of my own...
And considering how this is the first page for 2025's thread, I thought it best to place this post here in order to draw as many eyes to it as possible:

To choose the films for Röckzilla's Röcktober Fest™ 2025!

That's right folks, you read it correctly. Now you (yeah, YOU!) have the chance to pick which films Röckzilla will be watching and writing about this Röcktober!

So, if you're interested in influencing this year's lineup of films, go ahead and send me a Private Message with your suggestions through this very website.
(But please do not post any suggestions publicly in this thread. There's no need to clog up or distract from the usual discussions going on around here. Thank you!)

I will be accepting all suggestions that are submitted sometime between now (September 1st, 2025) and October 29th, 2025 when the submission period will end.
But again, all suggestions must only be submitted as Private Messages directly to Röckzilla in order to be valid candidates.

Other than that, there aren't really any other rules or guidelines you need to follow so just have fun with it!

You can submit any number of different suggestions that you want.
Also, you are allowed to make as many submissions within the designated timeframe as you like.

Every title that is officially selected to be viewed and written about by me will also have a special "shout out" to the individual(s) who suggested it included in my post!

If you happen to be having some trouble brainstorming which films you would like to suggest:
Please feel free to browse through my virtual collection of 4K UHDs and Blu-rays, located here on blu-ray.com, to help give you some ideas.
(Though I do apologize in advance because my virtual collection is rather disorganized at the moment and I'm currently still working on fixing that! )
If not my collection, perhaps go through your own collection or even someone else's to conjure up some spooky titles.
If I don't personally own a particular film that you have in mind, feel free to suggest it anyway!
Odds are I probably own it already on DVD or VHS and if not, I'm sure I'll be able to track it down somewhere somehow.

If listing individual titles sounds too difficult or unappealing to you, no problem!
You are more than welcome to submit suggestions focused on sub-genres, specific topics/subjects, franchises, decades, years, countries, directors, actors, or whatever else instead!

Röckzilla's Röcktober Fest™ 2025 does not officially begin until October 1st so you have plenty of time before (and even during) the celebration to get any suggestions submitted!

As always, Röckzilla's Röcktober Fest™ will be a month-long marathon of nightly double features and headbanging music.
That's 31 consecutive days in a row, all October long, with a minimum of at least 2 separate films being screened each and every night, ending with a grand total of 62 films altogether at the very least!
Horror films, monsters, Halloween, metal/punk/rock music, pizza... what more could you ask for?!

So remember boils and ghouls, no matter what part of the world you're originally from or currently reside in, now is your opportunity to live the American Scream!
Do your Uncle Samhain™ a favor and help decide what I watch and write about this upcoming Röcktober!
After all, as a proud citizen of Halloweentown, it's your patriotic duty to keep waving that good ol' flag of Dead, Fright, and Ghoul!

This year I'm gonna do what I've set out to do for years... and always fail.

I have a large collection filled with classic horror films that I really would enjoy watching again... but I always seem to end up watching new flicks that I've never seen or new acquisitions on disc.

This year I'm not doing that! I need to revisit the classic Universal monster flicks, the Hammer collection, early 70's horror, and simply my all time favorite genre flicks.....

Yes this is what I hope to do and have it make up about 90% of the movies on my list. Still have not seen every film in both the Halloween and Friday the 13th franchise. So I’m hoping to do that also.
