Getting $300. Should I Buy a New Blu-ray Player or a Bunch of Foreign Films on DVD? - Blu-ray Forum

I'm getting $300 for some work that I am doing. Should I buy a new Blu-ray player or a bunch of foreign films on DVD? A lot of these foreign films are Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Thai films and pretty much all of these titles are not on Blu-ray.

IF your BD Player works well and does everything you want it to do, buy movies. If the BD Player is lacking in features you want buy a new player.

Well, the thing is, the movies I am looking at are foreign releases and are not on Blu-ray, like, The Longest Nites, Haunted Bangkok, Sky of Love, Meat Grinder and some other titles.

Better still if you can save up that cash & add more to it over the coming months then buy yourself a nice player, I love upgrading HIFI equipment

The thing though is that my HDTV is a cheap one and it does not have an HDMI in the back of it.

As far as buying DVD's...try not to. I've had a few instances but hopefully the ones I want will eventually get the blu-treatment.

Yeah, these foreign DVDs are imports from Thailand, so they range in price from $5.50 - $15. Most are like $8.50 on average.
