I do feel for fans that don't like the changes though, I personally think blu-ray was meant to give us the ability to watch a film the way it was originally meant to be viewed, without change. I mean what if the chariots from Ben Hur got some sort of CG treatment? That'd be insanity. I think the same goes for any movie really.
Seamless branching was supposed to be the answer to this problem.

Someone has to watch A New Hope with audio commentary to see if they explain how R2-D2 magically teleports through rocks this time around.

Nobody cares about amazon.com reviews really they can go and piss and moan and write whatever one star review they want it really doesn't matter what they think about anything this set will sell well, and I hate to be the one to break it to them that their boycott and protest failed. Secondly those of who ordered this set on amazon, why would you risk getting your box set late? I really don't care if I have to go to the store and get it for the same price with the sales tax. I am not trying to be an ass but if a couple of $$$ of sales tax is going to influence your decision to purchase this, than it is your fault. I am getting my set nonetheless far cheaper than most will. I reserved my copy Barnes and Noble for in store pick up for $83.99 plus my membership discount plus a 30% off coupon when you use your mastercard.

83.99* 90%=75.59*70%=$52.91 before tax beat that amazon!

Default Got mine

Mine arrived yesterday morning from amazon. I don't have prime and selected free shipping. I did a quick preview and the movies look/sound better than ever.
As far as the content, TPM and AOTC are still really bad movies even in 1080p. ROTS is pretty good except for bad acting, but I blame the director for that.

As far as the originals, they look great. I could care less about the changes. I saw them all in the theater back in the 80's and I like the films but am not obsessed. I think that as long as you watch these movies for what they are, fictional sci fi action adventure then you will love this set. Much better than the DVD's

I'ma let you finish... but these Blurays are going to be the best blurays of ALL TIME! of ALL time!

But Srsly; I have a question for all you Euros who got your releases already: at the end of Return of the Jedi, is Hayden Christianson's face superimposed on Darth Vader when Luke removes his helmet?

i saw a video on "the youtube", but i won't consider that official until it's ON the bluray officially. you know how the internets can be - can't always know what's real or not...

peace and love!

Less than seven hours until I will have my greedy little paws on the Complete Saga.

This is for El_Jay:

I can't wait to watch Star Wars in all of it's 1080p 6.1 DTS-HD MA glory!

The circle will soon be complete.

Depends on what the actual goal was. I don't think anybody (unless you were really deluded) thought the set WASN"T going to sell well. Lucas could probably have changed A LOT more in the films-- he could literally digitally replace all the Ewoks with Gungans, and change the moon of Endor to Naboo, in an effort to bring the end of the saga full circle with the "first" movie. It would sell millions, because it is "Star Wars on Blu-Ray."

Now, I'm not digging on the people buying this set. If you're fine with the changes, great and enjoy the set. But I'm not buying the Complete Saga set simply because I do not wish to view the versions of the OT that is included. Simple as that. And while I haven't written any scathing reviews, I don't mind that people are putting the word out about what has been done, and that there are people that really don't like it. It might not make a huge impact on sales (although I do believe that sales have been somewhat impacted), but at least more people will know exactly what they are getting before they hit that "send to cart" button.

Thumbs up May The Force Be With You All!! Always!

I just wanted to say that I wish you all the very best with your sets!

We have had our differences in the past, and it was a fun time all these months, sometimes it got a little out of hand, but that's because we are all very passionate about SW!
No hard feelings, right?

May The Force Be With All Of You! Always!

Enjoy Star Wars on Blu-ray!!!!!

This is the moment many of us have been waiting for since the inception of the format, and it has finally arrived!!

It's truly wonderful to see most everyone being excited about the release!

I hope you will get a huge kick out of them!

Peace!

Episode II
Chapter 26 - Jango vs Obi Wan
The movie freezes
Pixelates
and then..dies.

Had to skip 2 chapters to get the movie going again.

I bought my Complete Saga today. I did not see any of the films yet, only the deleted scenes. The OT deleted scenes are pretty good, but the PT scenes suck. Mostly because they were never finished and it's just storyboard animatics - booooring. Will watch TPM tomorrow

I however am seriously considering pumping my veins full of Amp or Monster or coffee so that I can make it to midnight. I wouldn't watch them until at least tomorrow but I just want them to be in my possession. And I'm also very seriously considering buying all three sets: the whole set, the PT, and the OT. One set for myself and the other for lending out.
