Anyway after reviewing the 609 and looking at the history of the entire 600 series I dont advise anyone to purchase any 600 series ONKYO product regardless of the features they offer. The 709 series currently is known to be the best low end AVR on the market according to serveral reviews I have read from respectable companies for the year 2011. This year the ONKYOs offer some fancy features that are only found in the higher end models but someone is going to have to buy one first and it sure as hell will not be me. I always thought ONKYOs were first class products and maybe they are "except the 600 series" but beware because there are numerous problems with ONKYOs lower end AVRs.
I have to agree, well at least for the 606... I'm going to have to upgrade to another receiver. Mine still works but I have to let it run for 20-25 minutes before it starts to recognize a signal. I take it as a sign that it'll go kaput soon, which is sad because I really was raving about the 606 when I first received it.
