You want to know whats really killing ticket sales in theaters? Rising ticket and concession prices. On a typical trip to the movies for two people on any given night I will spend $21 for the tickets and then potentially another $10 on a small bag of popcorn and a small soda and the prices only go up considerably as the sizes get larger. At the end of the night it can end up costing anywhere from $31 to $45 dollars for the same thing I could get from a $25 purchase at say Walmart or Target (Blu-ray, Popcorn, Soda) and at that point I own the movie. I'm sure I've seen other people post ticket prices that are way higher then what I have posted and at some point people make the call that it's just too expensive to go to the movies and will just wait until they can buy it for the same price or lower and own it. Am saying never go to the movies again no but for some people it's just easier to justify waiting to buy it then it is to go to see it in theaters. Last edited by madlost1; 07-24-2014 at 11:06 PM. |
