Default Would Audyssey be useful even if I am running a 2.0 system on movies and music.

I just ordered some energy rc-10 speakers and Denon 590. I was wondering would Audyssey help me with my speaker setup even though I don't have a full 5.1 surround system yet.
I also have another question about my 2.0 system, when I play a blu ray disc, should I still select the uncompressed formats or it doesn't matter if its on one of the uncompressed formats compared to the compressed formats since I don't have a full 5.1 system yet.

Yes you should still run Audyssey. It's beneficial because it measures speaker distance, and adjusts for room response.

With a 2.0 setup, I would select the 2.0 soundtrack any time one is available on a blu-ray or DVD. If a 2.0 selection is not available I would go with whatever lossless format is on the disc.

Just FYI, if you're planning to expand your system to eventually be 5.1 or 7.1, a center speaker would be the most beneficial as your next addition, followed by a subwoofer and lastly surrounds.
