Default How common place is 7.1?

So far, I've looked at my few Blu Ray DVD's, and they only state 5.1 and dolby true HD. Is 7.1 incorporated into True HD, or not?
Will 5.1 audio tracks upscale to be output in 7.1, or will it just fake it, by playing the rear speaker sounds out the two additional speakers?

7.1 is on a few titles... usually in dts-ma... i can't think of any 7.1 trueHD movies...hmmm

There is a list/link floating around here of all the bluray movie specs somewhere on this forum...

5.1 matrix'd into 7.1 depends on your receiver

Onkyo 606 do it? Not too worried to be honest, if it won't sound good due to it being faked into 7.1

Most of disneys and new line is starting to get a 7.1
It will probably become more common as the months and years pass. just like 5.1 and 6.1 also was "new and rare" once. Alot of Asian film have 7.1 and that seems to be the trend over there.

You can also matrix 5.1 to 7.1 witch does an impressive job. Some AVR offre TrueHD 5.1 / DTS HD MA 5.1 with ProLogix IIx matrix for the Rear Surround. Kung Fu Panda is pretty awesome with that
