is this common on amazon?

i ordered the 3 disc platinum ed of sleeping beauty on blu ray from a seller on amazon.com and today i received it and opened it up and it was the 2 disc platinum ed in sd dvd boy i wasnt happy, so i logged in and sent an email with the problem to the seller. hopefully i hear back soon and i guess i can leave feedback if this doesnt go good. has anyone had this happen? see my order below copied in.

many descriptions are deceptive, some are selling bootlegs and claim original from warehouse

Just contact the seller. If they refuse to handle the situation well contact Amazon directly. Whenever a marketplace order has gone bad for me and the seller messed up and won't admit it, Amazon has refunded my entire order.

It says standard dvd w/ bd live. I would not have purchased it just because it says Standard dvd in the title. Good luck

The seller probably listed it incorrectly or picked out the wrong one to ship. Either way the seller lied/messed up. Shouldn't be a problem to fix. Good luck.

But MATTYBLU2 you paid $24.19 for it through a third party seller when it's only $23.95 through amazon.

this has happened to me twice on ebay in the last week. the people said they entered the upc code and it came up on the auction as blu ray... i dunno. maybe thats what happened here. both times i was refunded my money and they said to keep Standard DVD, so i gave them great feedback.

hope you get that fixed though

You should only buy from Amazon. Buying from 3rd party distributors is problematic at best. The money you save isn't worth the stress you endure. You may pay higher with amazon, but you get great customer service. Everything is done rather quickly. Basically you won't have to live with an Amazon error. They fix things quick.

i never had any problems buying from 3rd parties on amazon, but im only buy from 98% feedback rating and up. however on ebay i had my paypal account hacked buy someone that i bought something from and my took all money out of my checking. so i don't even go on ebay anymore

You get the same service with Amazon. You're covered by them. I've ordered from other sellers many times without issue, but I know that if I do I'm still covered by Amazon's policies. It's not "problematic at best" ... it's "slow at worst".

Gotta disagree. I've bought from 3rd party distrubutors countless times, probably saved a couple hundred dollars, and have only had a problem once, and the seller fixed the problem immediately.

I say go with the 3rd party to save money!
