I would be shocked if Funimation didn't have their own version out before the end of the year, just a head's up for those considering importing.

I don't really understand what Eva 1.0 is or what the point of it is. Is it the show spliced up into 4 movies with new scenes added in or what?

1.0 doesn't stray from the series too much until the very end, but from all accounts I have read, 2.0 takes it in a definite new direction and the few spoilers I have seen are crazy.

I wonder if Funimation got 1.0 or the 1.11 upgrade? Glad I am not a fan of the serious, otherwise the thought of the double dip probably would have been annoying.

1.0 - 3.0 are a re-telling of the series with some new material, 4.0 is some kind of new conclusion to the series.

The bigger the gap between the US and Japan releases the better chance it'll be 1.1. Now that we're all one big happy region, importing of US discs is just going to get more common. 4-5 months should be enough to give a proper buffer zone

Of course, this all depends on how much Funimation paid. Sometimes higher licensing fees have a way of breaking through buffer zone barriers.

Either way, should be good.
