Default Problem With Samsungs Bdp-3600

Hey Guys, have been having some problems with my dads new samsung bdp-3600 just picked it up today along with a 52 inch sammy b530. I hooked up the player and tv via hdmi in Hdmi1 on the T.V shut off all the anynet stuff on the t.v and the player. then tried out the spirit. And the trailers work fine the menu worked a couple times and i got the widgets to come up and stuff, but when i played the movie it would have sound but no picture at all. the T.v registers that it is getting a 1080 24p signal and the stop thing comes up in the corner so it is just like the movie itself does not work. I tried Speed racer and The Dark Knight they both work fine no problems at all. So any help would be great thanks guys.

I don't know if this helps but try disconnecting the player from the internet?

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?p=1825013

EDIT: Or updating the BD-Live via internet before playing?

Thanks for the info, I actually tried both of those things and still nothing.... I think we are just gonna return it and pick up the bdp-350 or something. I have never had this much trouble with a blu-ray player maybe it is just this player and just this disc but not sure. Any other help would be great, Thanks for the reply's.

try turning off 24p in the 3600's menu. I don't think the b530 is capable of receiving that.

Just tried that as well, still nothing... I should take a video of it or something to show you guys what is going on. It seems like some people have been having problems with this movie so I am just thinking it is the movie tried the transporter 3 also, and rented a copy of the spirit on BD and it does the same thing so it must be the player. Not sure why that would happen though and just with one movie.. Frustrating! haha thanks for the help

Actually nope I have not had any luck with the player.. Just for that movie though have not had any problems with it besides that movie. It would just seem that movie does not have a good time with this player... But besides having that little hiccup with that Disc.. I would have to say the player itself is a very decent player if you are thinking about buying it, know that the wireless function on it is just a usb dongle they give you with the player itself. Haha but it was a easy setup and the menu's are just like any other sammy player i have used before.

I got the bd-p4600...I had trouble with The Spirit also. It took quite some time to load the first time...but after the first time...it worked fined. I think it will be better w/ firmware updates in the future. I did have trouble with the anynet having no sound...that was corrected by turning off the feature. I had a ps3 for 2 years...still getting use to this player....I like it though...load times are similar to the ps3.

I had the same problem with the Samsung 1500 with having sound but no picture for the movie. After messing around with it I found the problem happens when you first put the Spirit disk in it say there is an update for the disk and recommends installing it. After installing it the update adds the local temperature and time on the menu screen and this is when the problem occurs. To unistall it you will having reformat the BD-Live memory to clear it out. Then say no when it asks you to install the update and you will be able to see and hear the movie.

Btw it seems to be a widespread problems. Even people with PS3 that take the update have problems with The Spirit...
