Default New film savior of Star Trek?

Everyone thinks Trek was dead and this new film brought it back to life. Trek is to big to destroy. This new film, while being good to great is not the savior it is being heralded as, it is just another film in the long line of films, TV, comics, books, toys, merchandise and god knows what else. New Trek may be off TV, but it is still on TV, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. Any new Trek is good Trek and no matter how much I miss a TV show I still have 724 episodes to watch.

Saw it last Thursday and say it will be a savior... the movie is great... I hate prequels, but this is a reset like James Bond or Batman Begins... and I really enjoyed it.

I plan on seeing it twice more in the theaters... and I never do that.

I think so.

The franchise was stale, and not converting new fans from the general masses.

Going back to the start will allow folks that have never been into the Star Trek world to check it out without needing years of backstory.

I say maybe, Star Trek work's better on the TV format then the theater screen, so until we see another succesful TV series like TNG, who can say? Plus this movie is not pure Star Trek, just too much action and rock & roll stuff that does not fit well with the true spirit of Star Trek. We shall see, only time can tell.

Well to be a true Kirk, Chris Pine as to let a stunt double do the real hard stuff in the fight scenes Don't know if anyone else saw how just apparent the stunt double look's in BD now It was always so easy to spot him but on the BD set it's like crystal water

Yeah, the rock and roll action sequences may turn off the old school loyalists to Star Trek like myself, but reboots recently has been this way. It is the future now and not the 60's, 70's and 80's. We'll just have to see for ourselves.

I'm going to wait for Star Trek to hit Blu-Ray. I like Star Trek and all but I'm not that big of a fan.

The only thing that disappoints me about this outing is that it all but confirms I'll never see another Next Gen centered adventure.

The BD is truly stunning, they truly did a wonderful job on it, plus the fact they also left the original FX on it made it extra special for me. If I have the wish to see it the old fashion way, I can.
