Easy one. Star Trek 2- The Wrath of Kahn. I almost cried when Spock died.

I have not yet seen the new Star Trek film, but I voted for The Wrath of Khan.

The Undiscovered Country is a close second.

I do remember seeing this in the theater as a kid. Lot's of people showed up dressed as ST characters. I remember during that scene I looked around and saw a lot of shocked faces. And leaving the theater I saw a "Klingons" mascara was running.

I think it's a tie for me between Wrath of Khan, Voyage Home and First Contact.

Khan is to the Star Trek franchise what Empire Strikes Back and Godfather 2 are to their respective franchises. Seeing Khan was one of my first vivid memories of going to the movies as a child, as well as one of my most vivid memories from my childhood in general.

I think the reason the current Star Trek movie is so close to Kahn in the above poll is because of advances in special effects as well as a younger core group of people on this website in general. A number of younger people will prefer the "newest flavor" over something that is "old". For instance, iPods over vinyl. Khan has to be one of best top 4 or 5 sci fi movies ever, not just the best Star Trek movie.

Oh boy, hard choice, I really liked 6 and First Contact. I also am in the minority of liking "Generations" - some pretty bad moments - but I liked the idea of the story.

However, Khan has always been my favorite - as much as I really liked the new movie for the kind of Trek I was always wanting (more action) - it hasn't been around long enough to see if it stands up to many, many repeat viewings.

So, I'll have to vote for Star Trek II, even though I am a big fan of the new Trek.
