I'll probably get a lynch mob after me for this, but I'll say Benedict Cumberbatch. If reading lines with always the same blank expression and monotone voice makes someone a great actor then I could get an Oscar.

Yeah he is awful in everything.

Okay, here is the big one - Bill Murray. I liked him in some movies but people keep talking about him like he is some acting god and frankly, I don't see it. Don't get me wrong, he was great in Ghostbusters but I wouldn't say great everywhere else.

I was never big on him myself. Ghostbusters 1 & 2 were great. Lost in Translation is a truly great performance from him though. His chemistry with Scarlett Johannson is sweet and sincere. Just a great all around film. The film did rely a lot on his reactions to Japanese (specifically Tokyo) culture. And his reactions were priceless 99.9% of the time. Just watch the scene with the prostitute trying to seduce him. His dry and deadpan demeanor sends it over every time.

the problem with most of the actor's/actresses working today is they lack any live theatre experiences. Any great thespian would hone their skills on stage and not just in front of a camera. When you are live on stage you only have one shot to get it right and not multiple takes and therefore the director picks the best one to edit in the narrative. Of the current crop of performers we see the most of today they are more "Pop" performers than real actors. Although they would probably beg the differ.

Yeah it's a good movie but not the kind that I'd want to watch a lot.

Leo DiCrappio. Yeah, yeah - he was good in that Goober Grape film but has been pretty awful in everything else. Scorcese beats off to him though so he keeps geting big roles. Whatever.

I have to go with Leo Di Caprio on this one. I wish Scorsese would try someone else in his next 10 movies or so.

My issue with Whalberg and by proxy Downey Jr. is they were both bad people and I know everyone should be allowed a second chance but something rubs me the wrong way that the two actors are currently sat on millions of dollars. It just seems so ass backwards to me that good, honest, law abiding citizens are barley able to scrape enough at the end of the month to cover their rent and convicted felons play around in kids franchises. Shrug. I know they are both well liked, and I'm probably going to get a stray "jealous" comment slapped my way but I think the point is valid.

Also a nod at DiCaprio, he's a great actor when given a director to... direct him but he's really not great when paired with a director who isn't good at directing the actors themselves.

Ryan Gosling he seems like this generations Keanu Reeves, decent to great roles tailor made to his lack of range.

I loved the Breaking Bad series but Aaron Paul is way overrated.

People change...So even if these people learn their lesson and turn their lives around, they shouldn't be able to work and make a lot of money? That seems more assbackwards to me. Sometimes, the best thing someone can do is get slapped around enough to wake them up from their demons. It happens to normal citizens too, not just celebrities. The bully in school who pushes people around has to get detention, suspension, whatever it is to try and get him to set his way straight. With all the money that Downey, Jr. gives to charities and what not too, it seems a little bit ridiculous to be mad he's making money, since he puts so much of it towards helping people. But hey, maybe that's just me.

That is correct. If law abiding citizens don't get these kinds of opportunities then what is the point? I always find prisons far too soft, people should be able to get a second chance but I don't think criminals should be able to just serve their sentence and wash their hands.

And giving charity is fine, but considering the ridiculous money they have earned since they give a very small fraction of it away despite earning far more than they deserve.

You think they just "wash their hands" of it? Are you kidding? Downey, Jr. was barely insurable once he cleaned up. So much so Marvel wasn't even sure they wanted him for Iron Man. But I guess working to clean up, earning people's trust, and dealing with all his own demons enough to finally really care for himself and his family isn't enough for you. You sound like the kind of person who thinks even after it's all said and done, they should sit on the outskirts and watch everyone have better lives, like they don't deserve it. That's insane. Again, people change, you can't just pigeonhole someone because they have a blackspot on their record. That's insane, and completely asinine.

Also, tons of law abiding citizens get the chance. We just had a case in Orange County on Halloween of a hit and run, a guy with a long record, who had been giving more than one chance to clean up, and he still managed to hit and kill people. The courts tried to give him a chance, and he screwed it up. People conveniently forget how lax courts can be since sometimes when they talk about how easy celebrities get off. They don't always get off easy, sometimes they do, but other times they don't. It just depends on the case, just like with normal citizens.

He gives more than just a small fraction of money...He's a big proponent of helping people clean up and have better lives, because he went through it before. He spends a lot of time trying to give to the people who need it, while helping his son who is battling many of the same demons right now. Who are you to judge how much someone should make or not, because of your bias that he did bad things? I'm sorry, but I'd rather someone like Downey, Jr. make his millions, and then use his money for good, then saying he shouldn't have the money to help people like you seem to think.
