According to Fox Sports the Marlins and Giancarlo Stanton are discussing a long-term deal, with numbers ranging from 10 years and $300 million to 12 years and $320 million. This would be the biggest contract in MLB history. Stanton has 2 years left of arbitration and is currently set to become a free agent following the 2016 season.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports says the Marlins and Giancarlo Stanton are close on a 13-year, $325 million deal. Heyman says the deal will include a no-trade clause and an opt-out, although he doesn't say when the opt-out comes into play.

Crazy. If that Marlins team is willing to lock up some of their young stars, they could be scary.

lol... the MLB "All-Stars" (look at the team.... it's mostly a bunch of good but not All-Star players) got no-hit last night. Now 0-3 in the 5 game series.

Loria is an even bigger joke than the original owner Wayne Huizinga. Loria...worst owner ever! I feel bad for Marlins Fans. Most of his former players have as much contempt for him as A's players had against Finley in the 1970's.

Russell Martin to the Blue Jays for 5 years, $82 million. I thought he was a lock to end up with the Cubs. They've got plenty of money to spend and catcher is definitely a spot they need to upgrade.

Doesn't surprise me to trade Heyward, but was surprised to see Walden included in the deal. Hopefully Miller is more like 2013 than 2014.

He sure can't. I see another great season for him, possibly one that matches what he did this past regular season however all that won't mean sh*t if he stumbles in the playoffs again. Because of this reason he will never be a Koufax to me.

Give me some one like MadBum, John Smoltz, Bob Gibson, Jack Morris and Koufax when it really matters.
